So the legendary Ted Fletcher has an awesome deal going on the TFPro 588 comp - Handmade in Britain, 500 series feed forward compressors (sort of vari mu?). A *PAIR* is only 550£ to 579£ depending on if you get transformer outputs. Ordered a pair myself! TFPro 588 Pair Deal

Thanks Jacob. I didn't love the Bomblet when I tried it, especially next to the 0-17 and 0-19 FET. I am interested in their new mic though.
It's strange that I liked what I heard online of the 1973, even though it has the same capsule as the bomblet.

If anyone needs a decent little 500 series utility pre - ZenPro has Fredenstein Artistic Pres w DI for... $99. Wow. Fredenstein Artistic Pre se (LINK)
I think the only difference between this and the $250 version, is it doesn't have a transformer. Still has an opamp though. $99 is like... absurd. |

It has an interesting texture. Reminds me of the texture of an Electrodyne, but much milder. It's hard to tell from just clips. |
