Softube Juno went back on sale. I was hoping it would, bought it. yeah, was about to post the softube sale as well. with code BLACKWEEKEXTRA you can knock of another 10% i am really tempted by the british class a. it can be used as a normal standalone plugin without owning the console 1. i demoed it before, the gate is garbage but the eq and saturation first class.

I topped off my black November spending spree with the Softube Vocoder for $34 this morning. Last thing I bought in October was British Class A for $48, so the only thing I didn't have from the BF bundle was the Vocoder, so there you go.
It started with that UltraViolet stereo EQ for $500 deal, hit me right at that impulse buy price point. Then the plug-in rush started, that Cherry Rackmode processors deal for $13, the 3 months of UAD Spark for $3, the Arturia FX Collection 3 upgrade for $49... pretty manageable. Then another hardware button pusher, the Synergy SYN1 preamp with Friedman BE module for $500, ordered.
There, invested mainly in hardware, a smattering of plug-ins, should be good... wait, the rest of the Plugin Alliance catalog for $300 and my $75 monthly voucher expires tomorrow? Done, 63 new titles for $225, wait... Empirical's full Arouser and Big Freq for $149 upgrade? In for a penny...
The lesson for today is, when I think I might be done it's time to push back from the table and not 'maybe just one more' this thing...

I'd like that dynamics plugin but it's still £120!! I can live without it. I guess it is not 75% off on all plugins, just some of them. newsletter.sonnox.net

TDR SlickEQ Mastering Edition is $10 at Audiodeluxe.
A few of the things I’m mulling over: The Toontrack NY Studio SDXs are priced at $54. May grab Vol. 2. Of course the new stuff isn’t on sale.
The whole NI Abbey Road Drummer series is $99. The NI stuff is usually half off this time of year. I’ve always put off buying this.
The GForce plugins are half off. I might go for the SEM or ImpOSCar2 instruments at $40.
BFD3 is $50, but am not sure that I need it.
Kazrog’s Ampcraft 1992 is down to $17.49 at checkout.

Judging by the number of daily emails I'm getting about Black Friday discounts, it might be quicker for us to list the plug-in developers who are NOT having a sale at the moment! I've also created a list of plug-ins that I've bought over the last six months or so during sales, that have yet to be used seriously in a project, and that's up to 19, so I'm trying to resist any further purchases for the time being

I am OVERWHELMED with sales. Mainly software sales. And everything is on sale. Everything. But I don’t need to know every little thing that’s on sale. Just tell me the good stuff. What are the ‘must-haves’ that are on sale?

Anyone tried Basslane Pro? I was skeptical at first, but I bought it and have been using it on every project, either at the end of the drum bus or mix bus. It’s definitely worth a demo!

I don't have the softube vocoder but i have the free TAL Vocoder 2: tal-software.com/products/tal-vocoderYou could try that one first and see if you need something else. The few times I need a Vocoder I am happy to use the TAL Vocoder 2.

And only yesterday I posted here that I was going to be strong and ignore all Black Friday sales - now I've just succumbed to Fuse Audio Labs' VQA-154 EQ. Dagnabbit!

TRACKSPACER on sale for $29. People raved about this plugin when it first came out. Is the love still there? I demo'd this for about 10 minutes and then caved and bought it.

I’ve been resisting buying the few Fuse plugins I don’t own because they are very redundant to what I already have, but that EQ is special. I also really like the VPRE-562A…it does a great job of adding some grit to a DI Wurlitzer, and the VQP-582A can sometimes be the icing on a cake on the mix buss…a nice alternative to something like a Maag EQ.

Waves just dropped their new Black Friday freebie: Lil’ Tube. I wonder if the *big* version will be an emulated tube console?

It's really out of hand this year. Now we have a supposedly hardware accurate Sontec, this game-changing Massenberg, a bunch of other new stuff, then record low UAD prices. I'm sure Waves and PA are putting out a bunch at rock bottom prices too. For me, I have to stay grounded and try not to jump on the hype wagon. $400 for UAD, $200 for Big Sky, $339 for Massenberg, $200 for Sontec, then whatever else pops up. Who knows, maybe another groundbreaking release pops up tomorrow and then it's "oh damn, now I need another $200 for this one". In the past, I made a lot of use of, and still have a lot of use for things that I got during Plugin Month and Pluginmas. You go and read threads about past new releases, and everyone is all euphoric then too. To be fair, a lot of stuff released in the last few years are still top of the class. But it seems everyone is getting in on the "most transparent compressor ever" trend. First it was Weiss. So many talked like it was the end all be all. "Better than any plugin or hardware". Then it was Unisum. Now it's Massenberg, Abyss, and maybe one more I'm forgetting. For all we know, next week some reverb could drop that will have everyone saying it beats the Bricasti hardware.
Then we got all these sales deadlines. I just said "screw it" with trying to test and buy everything and got the BX20 since it made a big difference and then the UAD LA2A since it was cheap and its quality reminds me of Fusion to a degree. Mainly in terms of not having the plugin dull flatness that so many have. If I buy these and decide not to use them much, it's not a huge loss of cash. If I throw a grand at a bunch of stuff and something new comes along that's even better in 6-12 months, then it's kinda a bad move to spend a lot now. I'll probably test the Sontec when the Windows version is released unless they offer some huge discount to buy it before its out. I already know I love the Sontec sound and given what I hear vs the IK and Scarlett, it will be something I want.
This is always a good time to revisit stuff you already own and haven't used in a while. It's often surprising how effective something you already own can be when you've made changes in your methods and/or plugins/hardware since you last used it.

^ I just finished an admittedly basic guitar and vocal mix with:
Guitar: Amplitube (Comp, Amp, Cabinet, Room)
Vocal: RVox, Slick EQ (GE, but I used the free features), iZotope Doubler, Q-Clone (snapshot of a complex resonance removal)
Reverb: Little Plate
And that’s it. Two of those were Black Friday purchases, and half of them were freebies. Once upon a time I threw wayyy more plugs at my tracks to try and get the sound I was looking for, but now I can usually get it with a combo of tracking and knowing how to use a handful of really good tools.
