Hey y'all. Just wondering if anyone could advise me on whether I should be worried about ventilation for my 500 series chassis in a roto rack. I have two Avedis MA5s, a Tree Audio L/c, Retro Doublewide II, and a Zähl EQ1 occupying 7 of 8 spaces in my Cranborne ADAT500 rack. It already gets quite warm in use so I'm slightly apprehensive about putting in a 4U roto rack without ventilation. Any other suggestions on how to house my rack for mobile use would be appreciated.

He hasn’t been posting as much lately but gravesnumber9 has one and could give you the run down. I don’t remember him ever mentioning heat as an issue.

I would want at least one space above and below to be safe, or if it lined up with the screw holes a 1/2 space. Of course best practice would be to run it with both lids off. OK that sounds obvious but in my gear pimp days I can’t count the number who were oblivious to this!

Those things get pretty toasty so you need some great ventilation for it.
