Phoenix was silky smooth and the Rooster was a mean cock. I'd love to get another Rooster and absolutely dream about the fat bustard. Past couple weeks I've been thinking about how I can raise the funds for the bustard. |

I have the Swift Eq which is based on his design of about 1963, and the presence boost, which I love on the Swift! Very different presence boost than the Silver Bullet, but I like them both a lot and find them both very useful as they are different enough.

This is sad news  My two favourite pieces of hardware in my room are my Thermionic Phoenix Mastering Plus and The Swift EQ balanced. They live on my stereo bus - truly great designs - to my ears hardware doesn't get more musical sounding than Thermionic gear. I'm sure the company will keep going building the dozens of designs Vic has created over the years, Thermionic has a huge world wide following from top USA producers to lowly project studio producers like myself. |

Vic was a real innovator. His gear is uniqye and sounding fantastic. I met him at a show one time. A great conversationalist!
Got an Earlybird mic amp and a Snow Petrel mic amp here. Used to run a Fat Bustard. All sound fabulous and do fabulous things to the sounds put through them.

Nailed, but also meant in the general sense, while there is much that Ward and I are polar opposite’s on when it comes to audio and a lot of other things we are perfectly in sync. Of course if we did agree on everything it would be boring as hell ! It’s one of those friendships that started here and has carried over into the real world. |
