THE O.P.R U47 FET Introducing our very own, made in Australia 1:1 replica of the original U47 Fet which was manufactured between 1969 through to 1986. The accuracy of our O.P.R U47 was only made possible by exactingly following the original schematic, PCB Layouts and most importantly producing our very own hand made K47 Capsule, which we precision machine and hand tune to original Fet 47 parameters in house here at the O.P.R lab in Melbourne Australia. THE CAPSULE 100% True to the original, our K47 capsule replicates one of the finest examples of K47 capsule we came across in our research. The K47 utilizes single back-plate design with precision machined holes, a center-terminated, gold coated, 6-micron German Mylar diaphragm, which is meticulously tuned and pre-aged for long life and superior sonics. All this culminates into “that” sound that you know and love. from kick drums and bass guitar to delicate acoustic instruments, Massive wall of sound electric guitars as well its ability to place a vocal front and center of any mix. The sound heard on thousands of amazing recordings the world over. When it comes to microphones the most important part is the transducer, be it ribbon in a ribbon microphone or a capsule in a condenser microphone as this is the first contact point between the outside world and the electrical domain, this is where the nuance and emotion of a performance is captured. Please note that at this price point all other manufacturers making FET 47 style mics import mass produced capsules often from the same suppliers.... Our O.P.R U47 fet's circuit and capsule are hand made here in Melbourne Australia which makes it not only rarity but a truly boutique microphone with superior sonics true to the original German classic. THE CIRCUIT The U47 Fet Circuit uses our own unique selection cream of the crop components that ensure signal path purity as well as replicate the sonics of the original. The O.P.R U47 Fet amplifier essentially a discrete op–amp circuit which drives our (HUGE) O.P.R Fet U47 output transformer resulting in a rich, thick, low distortion sound with an amazing transient response as well as the ability to endure extremely high sound-pressure levels of up to 147dB, with the 10dB pad switched engaged. The O.P.R U47 FET is perfectly at home on ultra-loud sources like bass and guitar cabinets, kick drums, brass instruments. Etc This is not to say that it isn't more than perfectly suited to softer more delicate sources as it's also a wonderful mix ready vocal mic and has plenty of transient detail for acoustic instruments, which makes it a studio essential! A/B EXAMPLES NEUMAN VS O.P.R

Looks cool. Why are “Australia” and “exactingly” in quotes?

Looks cool. Why are “Australia” and “exactingly” in quotes? I was “wondering” the exact same “thing.”

I notice you slander our friends at Heiserman (although not by name - see highlighted text). Not cool.
You should not spread generalisations about other builders without actually KNOWING where their capsules are from. Heiserman are not the only ones.
Build on your strengths, don't slag the competition in a general sense.

John, who else for $790 US is selling this with their own capsule? Peluso and Heiserman would be the closest who are using their own, and they cost much more. The UT Studios 47FET is $100 more and just has Heiserman design the capsule, not manufacture.
So, that claim seems to hold up, if truly made by their own people. I can't think of another 47FET by anyone in that ballpark.
I'm not making any calls if the capsule is well done or the mic performs better or worse than something like the Warm or Stam or Heiserman.

John I think It's not cool and a bit inflammatory of you to call it "Slander" I'm merely pointing out a fact that at this price point (as far as I'm aware) that I'm the only one making my K47 from scratch for my own U47 fet. As far as I can tell I'm being factual unless there's someone I've missed?
I Know Eric Heiserman, he's a great guy, and does make a K47 variant in his fet 47 style mic which I'm sure is great but it's at a significantly higher price point so not really relevant.

Its pretty obvious he's not referencing Heiserman as H47 is double the price. Other manufacurers are using Chinese based capsules and that's pretty well known.

Hey Benjamin, Yes I make Ck12, K47, and K67/87 Capsules. In fact my U87 1:1 Clone, C12 and 251 are also at a price point comparable to other manufacturers who use mass produce imported capsules and or totally outsource their manufacturing. The price discrepancy is likely, largely due to some of the other manufacturers using retailers and distributors which add a significant markup, where as currently I only sell direct, for now.

Well, I didn't see where you gave the price. Yeah, $790.00 is an amazing price, to be commended. If I has any money right now (I don't, ungortunately) I'd be tempted to pick one up to compare. (How can you make any money at that price?)

(How can you make any money at that price?) No worries john! Yes it's a silly low price I know, but I'm currently only selling direct to the customers, so don't have to add a %30 markup for distributors and retailers for the moment.
Svart: They're currently in stock and would ship a day or so from placing an order.

The price is great, my only thing would be dump the cheap phony ATA’s and find a nice cheap Pelican clone that will actually protect the mic.
