^ I have marveled at the number of drummers who are sold on Earthworks as their OH of choice, and the number of those who’ve had and sold 4048’s. I’ve heard several say they hated 4038’s! Says something about perspective, not sure what. My Earthworks went away years ago.

I really like my Earthworks on some things.
But IME, it's not unusual that drummers have lost a bit more of the upper frequencies, so I guess I'm not terribly surprised if they want to hear more information (both frequency and transient) up there. In that sense, a 4038 is the opposite of an Earthworks.

The pound is at a 37 year low right now!! I always hoped/assumed my Oktavamod Apex 205s were close but these prices might be too good to pass up. I guess I can always sell em and get my money back? Am I looking at import duties if I buy these things? I mean - you gotta think 4039s are coming soon. Tip your waiters

Just used mine for a flute recording. Sounded awesome. Used them perpendicular to the piano and u67s in fig 8 as well. Beautiful flute sound.
