I've been a Mac user since it was called "The Macintosh" - the teeny breadbox with a whopping 128k of RAM. By now, I'm pretty hip to the migration process. From the Motorola 680xx to the RISC/PowerPC to Intel and now on the cusp of going to Silicon. Apple has serially made things challenging to 3rd party developers (and by extension, their users) - historically, SDK's aren't made available until new chipsets or OS versions are publicly available (I believe that 'lifeblood' companies like Adobe might be different). So, even with the m1 being out for nearly two years, I've been kicking the can. Let somebody else storm the beach.
I know we're "just about there" - but for right now, even my slightly long-in-the-tooth 2018 intel mac is running like a watch. I don't use a ton of plug-ins - maybe in a heavy-cpu-pressure mix I have to notch the buffer back to 256 samples (I mostly run 48/24). What I've seen on some of the m1 'native' plugins is some crazy cpu loads (but if you run the intel version under Rosetta 2 it's fine). I've got Cubase Pro 12 installed on my m1 laptop just to play around or track/edit on the go and it's a point one away from me feeling comfortable running it as a daily driver in the studio. Clients shouldn't have to know that you're having computer woes. Ever.

JK, what's the config of your Mac Studio M1? I'll likely get one soon, the old MacPro trashcan video card is failing again. I'm thinking M1 Max w/64gigs ram.

I went with a Mac Studio M1 Max, 2 tb system drive, 64gigs ram. Ram might be overkill but I like to buy these things once and hold out for the next one as long as possible.
CPU meter barely budges.

Looking for a take from somebody who’s using Acustica with the new native demo. Wondering if I wait for m2 studio before I can really strap it across everything

I have two mechanical storage drives. I’ve pulled up older sessions and have had occasional lagging. But I could probably do some shifting around in PT to fix it.

My M1 MBP is 32GB RAM, the M1 Studio I went 64. Both seem to live solidly in the 18-26GB range no matter what I do.
