I’m pretty close to pulling the trigger on this for the Bandmate function.
Anybody been using it?
It lists for like $179 usd, anybody seen it on sale or discounted ?

I found Bandmate utterly useless. The Logic Drummer is 100x more capable. While using it with 3rd party samples took way more than most people will be willing to do...I did it, so...I was REALLY hopeful about Bandmate. My old Macbook is on it's last legs--no longer upgradable (OS)...battery needs replacing...so, I'd LOVE to do what I do without it. Seems silly to replace a Mac and potentially replace audio/MIDI IO and more for that one use. EZD3 works in Cubase on my PC tower, you know? And has the same mapping as SD3 kits I love...REALLY wanted it to be useful.
Wasn't. Obvi YMMV.

Well, I bit the bullet and just bought it, but after watching a few more demo videos.
I like logic drummer but am hopeful that Bandmate may add a certain, missing quality.
Will report back.

I bought EZ drummer 3 as well thinking it would be a nice upgrade from 2. It really isn’t to me other than getting a couple more nice kits. At least it wasn’t super expensive.

I loaded in a complete mix ( not recommended),no drums.
BM was ok but didn’t knock my socks off.
Peeps recommended loading in song parts section by section and you can choose the instrument .
So, I’ll experiment , as I was curious if drum parts could feel more in the style of the song and more in the pocket then logic drummer.

I usually use the Tap to Find. And, all I am doing with the software is using it to groove to to sorta get a general vibe before sending a demo out to my real drummer.

I dropped some various guitar tracks. I had to make some on the spot, becuase it literally cant deal with there not being a click….but, I mean thats fine. It just meant I couldnt really sum a bass/guitar/piano arrangement and give it to it….but, it did nothing I found remotely acceptable to a simple strummed guitar, so I didnt go back through archives for something done to a click to try the harder test.
