They "scream" at you, if something is even slightly off - there's no second guessing. You get to spot on very, very quickly. So do the Dyn's unfortunately and it doesn't do much for one's previous mixing attempts. Then again it doesn't do much for a few extremely popular pro mixes either to be fair.
It does make me question the whole buying via a scientific approach, as much as I enjoy reading technical details it wasn't those that scored the highest that put a lens on potential issues. Don't get me wrong some monitors are crap and they don't score well either but there's a fine line somewhere.
+1 Unfortunately, not all my previous mixes pass the ATC 25 test! At some point I’m going to remix/re record a few of my older albums. At least going forward I have a new degree of confidence with my productions.

The main reason I bought ATC SCM 25's was simply I'm time limited making music and they allow me to make very rapid tracking, arranging and mixing decisions. They are specifically engineered to be brutally honest, the mid driver alone is literally X-Ray vision into a mix. They "scream" at you, if something is even slightly off - there's no second guessing. You get to spot on very, very quickly. PSI A21M's were like that for me. I WILL have another pair of PSIs. lol.

PSI A21M's were like that for me. I WILL have another pair of PSIs. lol. Everyone's got their magnum opus and the Dyn's are it for me. They are the best monitors I've heard period..
That being said I was keen on the A23-M's, I'd buy them just for the fricking sake of it they were that good. Maybe in the future aye? (Which probably means it's going to happen).. When you're at a certain level the field really does change to oh my wow vs. oh my wow LOL.. I'm not what you'd call a gear snob either but monitors is a go all in for me.

There is this lovely pair of custom Questeds with the Volt mid and passive x-overs for $4500, the wife said NO!

Just to add some realism (as in I actually bought them)..
So how far away are you sitting from them, Shadow? And are they equidistant from each other as well as you? Just curious what you’ve settled on.

My desk is 10 foot wide and because of the Dyn's stupendous stereo width (with selectors set to desk / wall) it really doesn't matter. I can be 4.5 foot or 10 away and it's all the same.. If you need to be 2 foot out then yeah I'd go for Genelec but if there's at least 12 feet behind you then you'll be fine.
The obvious room treatment thing is in effect here though because they lack proper wave guides, if you've got a less than ideal room the the KH310's might be a better consideration.

Yeah, the KH310s are what I have, and I like them a lot. I was curious about your setup because in the pic you posted, it looks like the speakers are quite a bit further away from each other than they are to the listening position, meaning listening position quite a bit forward in the equilateral triangle. I wasn’t sure if that was an optical illusion in the pic (certainly possible) or if through trial and error, you’ve just found that to be the right spot in your room with that particular set of speakers. Just curious.

Just curious. I think it's a camera thing, they also look compressed vertically compared to real life which is odd. Plus my room looks very short even though it's 14 foot long? They're setup currently in a 2M / 6.5 foot equilateral but as I said I can move back and forwards a couple of feet without things changing all the much. Beyond 10 foot there's too much room interference.
That being said they still need more positioning work, I have to sit bolt upright to get the full effect of the phantom imaging because they're too tall. When I sum up the courage I'm going to rotate the baffle and mount them horizontally.
