It's been a slow death for me, but SonarID is now a giant POS.
Do I need to re-shoot my room, install something, click my heals three times and say "there's no place like home"??
I was patient as long as the plugin worked. But now....................

Can you give more specifics? I had some troubles but now have it working completely fine again on Windows 11 with V2 drivers for me Lynx Aurora 16. There are so many variables that can cause issues. I'm glad to help if I can.

I used to be able to track with it on the master without worrying about it. Then after this update, audio started to get delayed. Finally figured out that the plug was defaulting to mixed adding latency. Tried to turn it to zero but it was still weird so I just defeated it. Just annoying.

OK -- I'm on a Mac. I had to do a clean un-install (delete) using AppCleaner to remove old prefs and such and now it works in System-wide.
However, the plugin is not responsive in Logic, and doing nothing.

From what I understand even in "low latency" mode the latency with the Trinnov is too much to track with and you have to bypass it (which apparently is easy to do in their app). But maybe there's some sort of work around.

I too had loved sonarworks on 2 previous sets of speakers. Right now, I much more prefer Genelecs with GLM. Seems like the new Sound ID isn't working as well and doesn't sound as good.

With the previous version, the plugin worked but the system-wide didn't.
Now the system-wide works but the plugin doesn't.

On PC, it was the exact opposite. The plugin always worked but the systemwide would stutter badly.
One note, and this shouldn't be the cause, but... make sure systemwide is not running when you start the DAW.

I’m getting close to just getting a hardware eq and approximating the curve from Sonarworks. Systemwide constantly glitches out and I hate not being able to monitor through the correction in UAD console. I have a channel strip with some of the eq to kind of monitor accurately, but I feel like just committing to hardware will make life that much easier.

I just checked and you can download all the old versions of SoundID and Sonarworks from their website
so no problem to roll back to a previous version if the new one is causing problems

You can use REW for a room analysis and for setting the eq points. |

The infamous "since the update..." Man, it's almost as if audio software companies purposely put micro-innovations above stability. Steinberg does this too. Why don't they all just released updates on beta only if they can't ensure many users won't lose the basic functions?!?

Oh -- and when the sytem-wide works, it's got a shelf-span of about 15 mins.
Then, it's the Sonarworks version of the blue screen of death -- i.e., it is hosed!

The latest release is working better than any before.
- The Logic plugin works fine
- The system wide is much more dependable. It takes a few hours of being in the background to crap-out. A software reboot fixes it.
So, I'm liking it again, but sleeping with one eye open.

I’ve said it before, but SW was a revelation when I got it. Really improved my mixes. I’ve since gone to Trinnov as you can find on the board elsewhere. Reading this and I need to go back and forth again with Trinnov and SW. I’ve done it a couple of times and thought Trinnov won every time, but I really need to listen and see post what I think the differences are. Obviously, there are the obvious time domain and phase things…but I’m talking about “sonically.” And real world.
