So when I create Aux inputs, all of the sudden, I can't use busses for inputs. On SOME projects I can, but not on all of them. I'm trying to create a new Template and I con only choose interface inputs, but not busses.
ON some older projects it will let me, but not new ones.
I'm on hold with SW right now, but I guess I should try AVID.

If you import Session data & those tracks have busses in output or input they'll make the current session create those "new" busses. Just had the same thing happen to me & ended up creating 64 "new" busses this way. Don't know what's the cause.
If you're dealing w/ SW, try & get a hold of Andrew Williams! knows his stuff better than some of the Avid techs in Manila.

The I/O functionality has always been a dog when opening sessions that may have been done elsewhere. You get used to it - but it's a PITA with busses

I figured one thing out in I/O set up, with a Gent named Ian from SE. Then found another issue. Figured that one out, but there's still one more. I gave up for the day, came home and ate, then went back for rehearsal. Being a drummer is helpful when things are frustrating!

sounds like an I/O setup issue Tony.
No matter what happens, when you get it how you like it. Save it! You can save the I/O setup as a dedicated file. Put it in Dropbox or whatever cloud service you like. If you ever have issues just import it in the I/O dialog box so you always start where you know it should be.

Also, Benny or somebody had a great hack for importing io settings without losing panning etc. it’s on here somewhere.

Which is one of Protools greatest party tricks.

I love it for when I come up with a new aux combo of fx that’s working on an album and just pull it in wholesale.

I really wish any Pro Tools besides Flex / Ultimate wasn't crap but we can't have everything can we?
