Worse than "pretty low" with VK. About a year ago I was clearing out some high-end gear and sent them a list with photos and asked what they could do for me. I knew it wouldn't be as much as I could get selling it myself, but I was willing to take a small hit to spare myself from the Reverb/eBay miasma. The pricing/trade-in they quoted was laughable. One example: a mint Millennia 8-channel mic pre with ribbon options on each channel. New this would be around $5k. It had just returned to me from Millennia where they went thru it and serviced/replaced whatever was needed, and I had all that paperwork. They offered me $800. I sold it myself for $3500. I replied to their offer with something like "Really?" And they came back with "Oh yeah, selling used gear is expensive for us; we have to take pics of it and everything." Insert eye-roll emoji here. -09 Wow, that is really bad.. I just checked my e-mails and I sold the Apollo X6 (bought in 2018) to KMR for $1500.00, new price over here used to be $2250.00. When you factor in Paypal and E-bay fees I wouldn't have been much better off selling it privately. Although, what you're trying to sell has a large impact because abstract high end pro audio stuff over here is a very small market. I've tried to shift a UA 6176 before which isn't exactly an unknown element and at best I've been offered about 50% of new for it. KMR must really value you as a customer and wanted to keep you very happy - do you buy a lot from them? Because, I'm fairly certain when a shop like KMR buys a piece from someone and re-sells it then VAT at 20% is added to that sale (VAT is 20% for the UK government of course) $1500 plus 20% = $1800! Whenever I've looked at selling to a dealer or trading in he most I've been offered is around 50% of the new value. Except if it's Crane Song gear - that stuff has become unobtanium :-)

Except if it's Crane Song gear - that stuff has become unobtanium :-) Taxes are no less convoluted over the pond, I believe the second hand margin scheme is 16.67% on any profit gained. If they buy / sell from VAT registered companies however that changes and all sales are eligible for full VAT charges (which is 20%). VAT only applies to VAT based entities (self employed, LLC's etc. etc.) so if they buy / sell from VAT exempt entities then only the margin scheme will apply. Although, in terms of personal sales whilst the enforced threshold for VAT exemption is very high (like a $105K USD or something) if you're constantly buying and selling they might see you as a company and then slam a lot of charges on you. Seen that happen before.. Yep, I have bought a lot from KMR and I'm probably getting preferential rates although there's a bit more to it. They're not the only company I've offloaded stuff to. The second hand market is very healthy over here but the pro audio market isn't. I was in contact with a local retailer chain, not small but not large either and they pretty much said all of their sales were from prosumer or "low end" equipment. Unfortunately they still went bust a year or so later..

I just got burned on a Reverb.com purchase today. Looks like a fraudulent post.

Yes Dan, there’s no such thing as a $4000 U47 from a zero feedback seller 😂
Seriously though, you should be able to get your money back pretty easy from Reverb.
