My 16 yo son is using it (after I prompted him to get one). We both think it sounds wonderful. He’s just leaving it on vintage mode.
I also loaned him a 500 series rack with Golden Age Premier 73 pre (the one with the carnhills) going into a Rupert Neve Designs 542 Tape Emulator. Sounds like the 70’s but more clean/pristine.

I’m not a huge fan of this video, but it compares the Twin 87 to a U87. Ultimately, I prefer the sound of the Neumann, but the Twin87 is a nice sounding mic at a good price point.

Yeah it’s fantastic. I prefer the vintage setting on everything - but it’s a workhorse.

I got a session in with vocals cut on the United 87, great sounding tracks. Other vocals tracks are with a Soundelux 47 and the blend between the two is really working on this.
