Any chance on the 1178 there will be a variable stereo link like the api 2500 has? Just a thought! Oh that is a VERY cool idea! As you know, I'm championing the 1178 project, so anything that adds value is going to push it along! I'm dying to get an A78, myself! Would also be great to have a selectable side chain filter on this bad boy too!

audioscape are you guys still planning an 500 series Neve style EQ to work alongside your V1290? Any updates on that? I know you guys were debating what EQ to make.

We were chatting about it earlier this morning. Ward implied a 1084 in another thread, but I don't know how serious that was. A 1084 would indeed be badass. Implied? I've also outright asked everyone to vote on the best EQ modules to make! We're not kidding around here. Since all these preamps, 1073 1061 1081 1084 all use basically the same 1290 preamp, it's a matter of what's the best way to handle Eq? A combination, maybe? 1084 ___ 1084 Hi 10 kHz, 12kHz, & 16kHz (1073 has 12k only) 1081 Hi 3.3k 4.7k 6.8k 10Khz 15khz 1084 Mid 360 Hz, 700 Hz, 1.6kHz, 3.2kHz, 4.8kHz & 7.2kHz (1073 same) 1081 Mid 220 270 330 390 470 560 680 820 1000 1200 hz Low 35Hz, 60Hz, 110Hz & 220Hz (same as 1073) 1081 LOW (1081 adds the 180 and 330) And of course there's more than just frequency selection, there's bandwidth and available gain. +/- 12db, +/-15db +/- 18db? What would you do, knowing that every option adds cost? Is the 1981 the Holy Grail? What about the 1084? Is it even necessary to think about the 1073 EQ? Can we rule out the 1061? Customer feedback for the real world is key here! in a 500 series, it gets cluttered if more than 3 bands and HPF/LPF Hi 6.8 10 12 and 15K +/- 15db bell or shelf Mid 220 270 330 390 560 700 1K 1.2K 2.4K 3.6K 4.8K hi-q or low-q bell Low 35 60 100 180 220 330 bell or shelf And follow the 1081 for HPF and LPF . . . but your mileage may vary, and I'm just one AES member. I'd love to hear from others!

31102 or 1084 has my vote.

31102 or 1084 has my vote.
If it nails the sound, I'd 2nd a 31102 with pre/line which would be awesome, and think there would be a big market for one.

I'd love to hear from others! I have zero experience with designing and engineering circuits so what I’m about to type may be completely useless and pie in the sky. That said, you asked for user feedback and input so here goes… It’d be great to see the 1081 hpf/lpf on a 500 eq on a smaller neve concentric style system. In my mind this would probably save space. Having 220hz & 270hz on a mid band is something I look for in an eq and I mentioned this on another thread as well. I’m not sure I always need a ton of choices on a high and low shelf. If I just had three choices for each shelf, that’d be good for most things. Low shelf could be 35, 60, 100 and high shelf could be the 9, 12, 15. One thing I’ve wondered, does replicating a neve sonic signature require the neve look and does that waste space? The neve gain knobs and hpf knobs can be pretty large. Is it possible a combination of smaller style knobs and toggle switches could be used to save space on the face plate? Putting three frequency choices on a toggle switch for the shelves would save space, right? But maybe that is impossible with this type of eq and hence why I said my thoughts might be useless. Also, perhaps saving faceplate space is the secondary question to “can all of these functions be fit onto a 500 series sized board in the first place”? Hope that is useful somehow

Missed the sale? If you somehow missed the sale last night, there are a few things left available. In particular, a couple of 76D s and the Classic DI... which are both killers! This was our BIGGEST SALE EVER! It was the end of summer . . . and here are some of the sales: $250 off the XL-305R $50 off the Buss Comp $50 off the Classic DI Basically this is a chance for everyone to save a little bit of money. No, the 76s aren't on sale, but they're already super inexpensive. www.audio-scape.com Kindest regards, Ward (with notes from Trevor)

I noticed that the Buss Comp has been occasionally offered in as a stocked item recently. Is this going to continue, or will it mainly be offered through pre-orders?

Ward when is the 260 going to be available? That's an excellent question, and the answer she could from Chris at audioscape when he's ready to give us a projected release date!

In case anyone missed the Audio-Scape update from the Hurricane Ian aftermath...
Beautifully stated, and everyone (especially Chris) is doing their best to get everything up and running ASAP. A great bunch of people, just like everyone here!

Not sure if there's an IG link, but as of this morning I couldn't find it on their site.If you're signed up to their emails, you'll get a link to donate to help out the A-S crew affected. Best wishes to the team and everyone else affected.
Edit: Link is below in Chad's message! (Thanks!)

Thanks for sharing this. EDIT: the confirmation email comes from audioscaperaffle. I don't want to enter myself into a raffle, I just wanna help. I'm hoping that address just happens to be what Chris and co. used to set up the receiving account...Ward or Chad (or whoever), can any of you clarify this?
