There's a lot of junk on Alibaba etc. but some stuff is legit. Primo and 797 Audio come to mind. Unfortunately, 797 Audio doesn't deal with consumers. You need to find a trustworthy reseller.

Problem with 797 is that they want you to sell their whole line of stuff in your store. So I would have to buy a small inventory worth, and I would be stuck with USB mics I can't sell. But they still haven't established their name out there well and so this increases the gamble to sell their product.

Beesneez blow most of the competition away. I have used 10 of their ck12’s and they’re the closest to a real one I’ve found. The K7’s are excellent too I upgraded my Flea 47’s.

Telefunken USA was the importer to the US of some Telefunken AG stuff. When AEG/Telefunken went under in Germany, they acquired the US rights to the brand name. There are many brands (Apex, AKG, MXL...) that do the same thing; selling Chinese mics with a bit of extra quality control and some mods. Only, these other companies don't want your left kidney for a mic. It's like a Pontiac Fiero with a Brabus logo. What gets me all the plants but Sennheiser is in China. And they make their mics and Nuemann's Mic parts.
I heard Shure was moving the capsule making out of China since they moved the assembly part of it to Mexico.
So, what you see on alibaba(china freight) is all their over runs, rejects and b stock.
There are rejects, but both 797 Audio and Primo have resellers on Ali Express. They can't offer all capsules in small quantities, but there are plenty of good capsules out there. Buying them is always a risk if you're a beginner, but at the prices they charge, consider it a kind of lottery. In fact, DIY mics are taking off. The Neewer BM700 internet hype has taken DIY to another level. Mic bodies and most other parts are readily available. Personally, I find the mic bodies on the expensive side, but I'm cheap and I have a stock of broken or very cheap 2nd hand mics, so I don't need them. A C12 is a very particular capsule, so don't expect to find one on Ali Express on a first try. But the usual suspects, like K67, K47 and the likes are plenty. There are shops that sell parts sprouting up everywhere. Some have more reasonable prices than MicParts. It's still hard to find a shop that has everything, but a few even offer "home-made" capsules. There's one in Michigan, fi. I'll give you this thread on GroupDIY to check it out: groupdiy.com/threads/soliloqueens-k87-k67-and-k47-capsules.81968/

I don't know if there is some sort of break up, but they were associated together at one time. And it wouldn't surprise me at all if all of these mic parts were made in China.
I question the boutique ones because of the type of facility you would have to have to make them.
