Stam sell them through a Euro disti now, I can get one tomorrow. Only select models like, some of them have a 3 - 12 month in stock notice.. Sorry - just saw this. I really like the SA69. Much more modern sounding than the 1073.

Phoenix DRS will go through opamps. They’re potted, and propriety so you have to get them from the company when they go down. Nice sounding pre, but none of our other stuff has needed any maintenance in the time it’s needed 3 opamps. I am en route to track vox with one right now. What model of the DRS do you have? I have an opportunity to get 3 DRMQ4 mkii units for $750 each *new*... 6 pres with EQ for that price seems unbeatable. These are the USA made model. Hoping that was after the resolved the op amp issue.

I believe they are US made, he’s have them for maybe 7 years?

Here's some more to add to the pile: Phoenix Audio DRS (60% off) so cool. There's a B-Stock AMS Neve 1073DPX dual for sale. AMS Neve 1073 DPA. Neve 88LB. Ex-Demo API 512C + a new 512V. The AMS Neve 1073 offerings are a tad vanilla to my ears and I way prefer the BAE 1073's. The AMS Neve 88LB on the other hand is the right kind of vanilla and it a very handy super able pre-amp when you're not looking to add some hair but want clarity and dynamic stability. I think the API 512V is a great pre - very versatile. Those three pre's are all very different though. Sleeper unit is the DAV Electronics BG1 - I had one of demo once and it gave my uber expensive Millennia STT-1 a run for it's money at an absolute fraction of the price - it's a really fantastic little preamp.

Awesome, thanks for the update! One last thing, they get lumped in with various high quality Neve clones, but they are actually transformerless on the inputs only.

Yeah Ive read up quite a bit on them over the years, transformers just on the output. I almost got them years ago, I believe I ended up getting pres from IAA instead at the time.

What's the DAV 501 like? Seems like a great deal at £259 I've not heard one, only the BG1 brick. But knowing Mick at DAV I'm sure it's excellent. You know when I put the DAV BG1 up against my Millennia STT-1 it was actually the tube channel it most closely matched there is definitely a little bit of hair and character about the DAV pre (even though it's IC based) Mick Hinton at DAV is an ex Decca engineer and he's a very clever chap. Honestly it gave my uber expensive Millennia tube pre a run for it's money!!
