"Rare earth" where do people come up with this shit? I would call it "Middle Earth channel strip, blessed by Gandalf with the power of Sauron, my precious channel strips."

But surely the original hand-built Klon Centaur has now been Kloned into extinction? (apart from those misguided folk who buy gear as an investment and then never actually use it ) The Ultimate Klon Pedal Blindfold Challenge - 10 Pedals - £39 - £5000 Shootout!

yewtreemagic Bill is still hand-making klon pedals in the original style, custom auctions, worth thousands of dollars, one at a time, as an aid to benefit a woman he knows who needs help. People think the magic is in bill's pedal. "THE ONE." But you are right: the magic is (not) in the diodes, most of them will do. Same as any tube screamer or big muff. Just without the hype (Totally with the hype.)

Sorry if this has been brought up here before, this is a long thread…..has anyone upped their insurance to reflect the value of their stuff in this ridiculous market? I just realized I should and here’s a reminder that you probably should too

I just realized I should and here’s a reminder that you probably should too I need to update mine to reflect changes in what’s actually here now. Some things were jettisoned and some others purchased.

I don’t have insurance on my gear. I know. Shameful. Is it expensive? I understand homeowners wouldn’t pay.

No idea. Depends on your specific policy and perhaps even state. It's not terribly expensive to add on a policy, and well worth it if you ever need it.

Pricing depends on how much gear you have, and it’s total replacement cost. I have insured both my studio gear and my live rig. You have to create a list of your gear and it’s value. I use: www.musicproinsurance.comAt this point I’m paying a few hundred a year. It stinks, but I’d rather have it just in case. I also insured my console desk, camera, rooms treatment, etc on my plan.

If instruments and recording gear are valued above 10K you need a rider. If not be happy and go drinking if not get your agent to write an equipment rider. ( just got one the family library it hurt ). Step 3 set an eBay watch for your instruments and gear watch see if you need to increase said rider.

Totally reasonable pricing update:
Switches that were $30 each last year are now $45.

Totally reasonable pricing update: Switches that were $30 each last year are now $45. I WISH it was only that across the board. Certain micro controllers that we use went from about $18 to about $148. And even if you wanted to buy them, the parts suppliers are throttling the amount you can order during a time period
