Just wanted to share this additional option: hitsend.io/Seems to have some great features in it as well. Including a nice looking gapless player @traxworxmastering its not DDP but still nice. Not super cheap. But you get a lot of stuff out of it.

I actually prefer Box to Dropbox. I like how you can send someone a link and put an expiration on it and prevent downloads. It’s a nice feature when you are sending a pre-release sample to media, blogs, photographers, friend etc. The audio will also play on phones without having to have the App installed. The Box App is also very good. www.box.com/home

I’ve been trialing Samply and so far it’s pretty nice. I love the comments section and the ability to time stamp comments.
Looks like WeTransfer just launched a new service, I think it’s called Portal. It had a lot do the same features and the added benefit of supporting any type of file, not just audio, or so I understand.

I'll ponder this. Thanks!

I currently use the free Wetransfer as well (transfers of up to 2GB max is fine for my purposes), and have never once had a problem with it to date over a host of projects.
Previously used Dropbox (still have an account) but had quite a few problems logging in latterly during the years I used it - at one stage I couldn't get logged in at all from their web page for some reason, and instead had to download an app, then log in from that. Weird!

Hello! Great to see people looking for alternatives to Dropbox for sending audio. I’m Daniel and very passionate about this subject. For the past couple of years, my co-founder and I have been developing a somewhat similar audio sharing platform called Audome.
We’re currently working on making it possible to deliver non-audio files accompanying the main audio delivery, amongst other features.
Our approach is different in that we're not only focusing on the audio engineer. We put a lot of effort and care around the end-user, focusing on ease of use and making it a nice experience. Not just a link in an email or too complicated to actually use in the first try.
I just wanted to chime in here as I really believe that audio engineers shouldn’t settle for non-audio optimized platforms like Dropbox. If any of you are up for trying it, let me know. I would love to hear your feedback – good or bad. We live on that stuff:-)

And something I'd be interested in depending on the overall cost. Would be happy to poke around on whatever you have to give some feedback. Thanks!

I had to ditch Dropbox Pro also due to their moronic hamfisted audio mangling decisions. It would be ideal otherwise. Now relying on Google Drive (fiddly) and WeTransfer.

I used wetransfer for a long time, but I got really tired of the "I need these files asap" only to get an email weeks later saying "can you resend those files, the link is expired" . For me Dropbox just works. When I'm mixing I email 320k mp3's. But for delivering final mix wavs to mastering, and stems and alt mix's to the client, I use Dropbox.

Can you elaborate on what you're going for? The price is right as well at $9 a month.

Haven’t read the whole thread but I DESPISE Dropbox. So incredibly convoluted. Constant upgrading extortion. Anyway - like was mentioned, I use wetransfer. Incredibly simple.

The ability to send non-audio files is something we're working on at the moment, and it's not done yet. That's why we don't have anything about it on our website yet – I would love to talk more about it with you. Let me know. Generally we want to enable the engineer to upload all sorts of files (audio files, PDF, DDP etc.) The main files are still the audio, but the client can access sort of a bucket of files that the engineer uploads. Most likely at the end of the project for final delivery, but also during the project.

This looks really nice. Very good pricing. If the non-audio files can be included with the projects, then it would be incredible. Thanks! Yes, the pricing is very good for early adopters. We want to reward the people that believe and support us from the beginning. We're working on getting the non-audio files done – probably within the next month. Out of curiosity, what kind of non-audio files would you predominantly send along with the project?

So being able to hand off a marked up score to each other(usually in PDF) with revisions would be super cool. DDPs as well for mastering Then just change order docs, like EDL style. Hell EDL's would be a great file type. As well as csv or spreadsheet.

Maybe a spread sheet for certain project planning. If you could link to a Google Sheets or something like that within your project, there would at least be one repository of all the files associated with the project.

It would be great to be able to post a video file instead of using youtube. Then everything would be in one place.

I've been looking at ditching Dropbox as my way to send people files for review. It keeps fuckin up my audio files during playback. Samply looks awesome to me. I love how you can send people a nice player to play in the browser. You can load different versions right there so users can go back to v1 from v4 ect. Comments look nice too. Filepass also looks pretty good but is much more expensive. I like how you can check off requests though. Anyone using either one of these? Im leaning towards Samply right now. I'll use Dropbox for Archiving stuff. Ironic you posted this...My wetransfer premium just ran out and they want $275 a year...WTF

Anybody checked out Audome? I'm trying to figure this out - sent via chat So - can you create one client and then separate deliveries (songs)? Or do you just create a client (even though it's the same client) for each different song? danielaudio
