Was thinking about trading something for a Burl B2…but then I’d have to choose whether to clock from the Burl or the Convert 2. I usually track at other studios and mix/OD/vocals at my place. Not sure I’d really hear a difference, right?

I am of the non-Golden ears camp that has never been able to pick out a difference in AD in blind tests unless it's like "absolute garbage from 1993 compared to good stuff from 2021". Doesn't mean there's no difference but good 2021 versus great 2021 is indistinguishable to me in blind testing.
So if you ask me? Not where I'd put my money. Nobody that listens to your music cares. (If your music sucked that might be a different question.)

(If your music sucked that might be a different question.) I can definitely hear a difference between manufacturers but simply put I don't care. Modern mid / high end converters circle around subjective preference not quality IMV, I tested a bunch of them in my new studio holy grail quest and I still like my MOTU1248 which near enough sounds like the Apollo.. So if one is to be succinct about the matter, meh! |
