I'm considering either the AMS Neve 8816 or the Rupert Neve 5059.. Any thoughts?

Definitely go for the RND 5059. The 8816 sounds great, but the build quality is bad. Do a search on the Purple Site. A lot of problems with it. Mine had the shifting stereo image problem. It was brand new, and was sent back to AMS Neve for repairs. Came back the same. Never had any luck getting it fixed.
Now I've got the CAPI SumBus, and couldn't be happier.

Yeah I've heard rumours on the review mill of wobbly pots and not so great build quality.. Hmm Capi SumBus you say.. *Research hat on.

I had the RND 5060 for a few years.
Awesome sound and headroom.
I only went ITB with Luna and Neve Summing.
But I can fully reccoment the RND summing … punchy, smooth, and the silk adds that extra but of vibe.

Something about the Luna Neve must have been good enough to convince you to go that way?

I was It was probably more LUNA Neve Summing & Ampex 102 combined was as good as RND 5060 & Zulu … I was using the 5060 in conjunction with a Stam SA-4000, a Chandler Zener, a pair of Distressors and a Langevin Mini Massive EQ plus the Zulu. I kept the Distressors and the Zulu for tracking.but used the funds from selling the other items to fund preamps for recording on the way in instead of the Apollo preamps I did several tests and was comfortable enough to make the switch.

The sound of the 5088 is unreal, so I'd recommend the RND?
