Not to be that guy, but is this place legit? It's my first time hearing of it.
Their youtube videos, upon first glance, only go back a dozen days or so.

Some of this stuff is probably going to go cheap and is pretty good. Like that Tascam DA 3000 and the cables of course. He owned a lot of very good underhyped stuff.
The u67s are ridiculous.

I'm actually not sure how cheap some of these things will actually go for. I made a couple bids, that were admittedly low, and the site (the sellers) countered with one that was above new prices, before shipping. Of course, if the gear is tied to the legend, I understand why they want more than new prices; I just wonder if they'll include some sort of documentation for the more valuable items. I'm joking here, but imagine a certificate of authenticity for a pop filter: "Al Schmitt, the legend himself, threw this pop filter in the trash after deeming the gooseneck too weak to hold any weight."
(Side note, decades back, he actually spoke at my small technical school. I'll see if I can find a recording; I'm not sure if it ever surfaced on youtube or any other streaming sites.)

An item with his name label would nice to own—he was so highly respected. This is the official “Can’t take it with you” thread.

I'm not even gonna spend time looking through that after page 4, and such a high percentage of "some other shit we bought at Guitar Center to pad out our yard sale".

Wow, a lot of AT mics, and not only high end ones either!
He had the mic I started with decades ago, AT2035 (newer version of my AT3035)

So it's an auction site where the seller can just choose to ignore the "winning" bidder by design? Then there's no point to the low bids on some items I'm seeing, because the seller is never going to accept them. Ultimately that's going to cripple user participation.
I expect to see a "this domain is for sale" message when I visit it again in a couple of years.

Not entirely familiar though, since I've generally not been the type to do auctions online.
(Still regretting not getting in on that McNally Smith auction a handful of years ago.)

He had the mic I started with decades ago, AT2035 (newer version of my AT3035) He talked about the AT5045s quite a bit and he liked their ribbon mics as well (and let’s be honest someone like Al probably got a lot of free things from manufacturers) The Upstate Audio Sonic Lens preamps have always intrigued me because of their mystery/legend/rarity. Right now one of them has a bid of $6,000 which seems pricey but is $500 LESS per channel than the new RND Shelford

You submit and offer and it can be accepted, decline, or countered within 24 hours. Works just like Reverb's "make offer" feature. There is not end date on any item like an auction.

I think other auction sites have certain forms of protected minimums. Not entirely familiar though, since I've generally not been the type to do auctions online. eBay makes this obvious to the user by either having a minimum price clearly listed, or by showing a "the current bid has not met the reserve" message for reserve auctions. More traditional auction sites (Morphy, etc) have price range estimates/appraisals listed with their auctions.

They should probably remove the term "bid" from their sales then.

Interesting thread. I bought my Drawmer 1960 off (I'm just gonna deleted the famous name) back years ago . . . and yes, I know what he used it on, and spoke with him on the phone for a while. Amazing warm friendly respectful and respectable person who treated me like an equal and sold it at a fair price. I don't get the hero gear worship stuff.
I just don't get that. Regardless of how lucky we are (or aren't) in our field, we're all peers.

Just to note; not sure if maybe the sellers (site?) will become more lenient on the minimums eventually or not... because if you look around at some other gear on the site, there were some pretty damn good prices on some other units.
Saw a couple Model 14B's go for ~1600 USD.
If you look at other microphones, there are a few that have buy-it-now prices that seem a little more reasonable.
(I'll probably wait to place any more bids until a certain inventory update on Saturday at 8 PM EST.)
