audioscape does it again!! Pure goodness out of the new XL-305R. I’m told that this is the first production model in the wild and it has already made it onto several mixes over the past week including my upcoming album. Hats off to my friends at AudioScape - it’s a gorgeous sounding unit! Mine sounds like a realistic “space” in a 2RU package. When driven a touch it is warm and lush, and when pushed, you can hear the spring vibe come through. What a beauty!

I don't think I even saw the Opto show up! (not saying it didn't get filled, just that someone was hitting refresh much faster than I.)
I actually didn't complete my transaction fast enough for a 76a either. Probably for the best, I'm supposed to be waiting for a V-Comp instead.

Got my Audioscape Reverb today and hooked it up to my board. I sent some different instruments to the unit and played with the controls. So many different sounds available, and much better than most of my digital reverb plugins. The unit isn't noisy at all and very smooth. It's great to be able to get a spring type sound and a smooth/ hall type sound even a room sound. Thinking about adding an analog delay before it as well. Looking forward to using it on my next mix for sure!

Important announcement . . .
Hey gang. As luck would have it, there are three XL305 reverbs available tomorrow, Saturday December 11th 2021.
And that’s the last of them for 2021. And more importantly, the last at $2250. We know it’s Christmas and money has to go where it’s needed most. But in case anyone is holding off until January and can afford it now, save yourself $250 this week.
No hype. On God. no cap.
Just three verbs in case anyone is on the fence. Thanks in advance, AS Team

Are you employed by them?[/quote] I am enthusiastically working hard on their behalf. I am not on the payroll. I get a discount, but that's it. It's important everyone knows that. Chris will verify that. If and when that changes, I'll let you know.

The 305R is really, really great. As I've posted elsewhere, I owned an OG master room 305 and the audio scape is thus far hands down better in every way. Very impressed with this thing.

I must of bigged them up 10,000 times on forums and I've had zero in return - not even a thanks!

Let it be known that Ward will be forced to field any tech questions on behalf of of the AS team on this board from this point on. Once I get the opto in Tuesday, I'll need some help figuring out where to plug in my T-S-R cables, where the USB goes, and how I hook this up with bluetooth. Thanks. [/joke]

Looking forward to using it on my next mix for sure! Thanks for the feedback! While you're experimenting with it, try below-threshold downward expansion on the output to shorten decay. Another fun trick is to key the return with dry signal. How Bill Hall of MicMix calculated it is above my pay grade but the MasterRoom MR-II has a very similar decay time to the 305. The early literature quotes a room volume of about 4000 cubic feet. www.ka-electronics.com/images/pdf/Hall_Reverb_Brochure.pdfFor a really, really big room compress the return.

It was only a matter of time until someone figured out the Bluetooth functions.

Ah, so Ward, if I promote you, then I get a discount too, that’s how trickle down works: right ?

Ah, so Ward, if I promote you, then I get a discount too, that’s how trickle down works: right ? 🤣 Boutique audio as a MLM scheme. I like it. We're probably not too far off from something like that, based on some of the fucking targeted ads I see in my social media.🤦🏻♂️ But back on track: starting basics for a project tomorrow, and will have an exceptional session drummer in to kick things off. I am looking forward to experimenting with the 305R in this context. I used to plop my OG 305 right next to the drum kit and let the sympathetic vibrations turn my mid-sized live room into a hall of epic proportions. That's my first order of business with this gadget tomorrow.

The AS XL305R has been in constant use here the past several weeks as I’ve been mixing my upcoming album and also some mixes for clients. What a beautiful machine. A little goes a LONG way and the space and dimension it creates is truly unique. I use mostly plugin verbs… BUT… the 305R and my Bricasti both offer something I cannot obtain from plugins. It’s a thing of beauty.

Ah, so Ward, if I promote you, then I get a discount too, that’s how trickle down works: right ? This is too funny, what did you start Ward? Seriously though, being a company that sells direct to customers our growth has been solely from word of mouth. No big box store target advertising us, etc. That helps us keep our product prices as low as they can be and putting all our costs into getting the best parts available and skilled labor. We appreciate all the help we can get from any and everyone, can't overstate that enough.
Great idea Wayne with below-threshold downward expansion, I think we'll do some videos soon to show how cool this is in use
Loving all this feedback on the 305-R! One of the biggest differences we notice vs digital is with the stereo image and dimension/texture. I'd love to hear your results too Benny, super exciting!! Official Demos are great as a reference point, but real world tests over time will really solidify what this beast is truly capable of ;-)
Cheers, Chris

Hi all,
I did a super duper in-depth video comparing the new 305R reverb to one of my studio's plates. I went into making it expecting it to be a quick 10 or 15 minute run-through, but ended up getting way in the thick of it. The video is long and dense, but it's packed with a LOT of good info and tons of listening / comparing. Hope you enjoy!
