Hey all. I love (LOVE) my Juno. But, it lives at my studio, and i do a lot of production work during the wee hours of the night at my house. I'm hoping someone here with a similar affinity for the real life Juno can recommend a good plugin. I'm scoping out the Roland (cuz duh) and TAL (cuz I like their chorus plug) offerings, but curious if there are any others worthy of consideration. Arturia? Others?
Thanks!

I’m absolutely a synth novice…but as badass as the 25:1 IK deal is, I haven’t really loved the syntronik stuff. But again - I’m sure a knowledgeable player could coax something awesome out of it.
Was talking to a session guy not long ago and he said he loved the Omnisphere “hardware” settings for a juno.

Feels clunky and not really like an instrument. I've heard good thinks about omnisphere...i'll dig into that. Thx!

The Softube Model 84 is a spot on Juno 106 if that's the model you're after. Have both the Roland Cloud and the Arturia versions as well as a real 106 which is now unplugged and being listed for sale because the Model 84 sounds that good to me (and far less noisy).

Playing the Model 84 instantly felt familiar / correct in a way the others hadn’t.

I haven't tried Softube's version but Arturia's is good. It's the one that convinced me to buy the V Collection last year. Arturia has come a long way. You should demo them both.

I concur on this. I ended up buying it. It does the Juno 106 thing perfectly.

To develop plugins for Protools you need to get them signed by pace or be part of the avid partnership programme so they can do it for you. There are a few hoops to jump through to sign code which, i guess, is why a lot of free plugins are VST/AU only. On top of that you will probably want a copy of Protools and an iLok to test and debug.

The new Plogue DX7 model is probably the best that anyone has produced so far.

I own a Juno 60 and the new Arturia Juno V is a very good emulation. The TAL is also excellent. For Juno 106, Cherry Audio is the way to go.

I really want to pick up their PortaFM just to relive my childhood. Great to hear they emulated the DX7 though, in case my hardware ever fails!

Cherry Audio DCO106 is excellent!!! Addictive, even. And the best part is it's not expensive.

I demo’d a buncha stuff, but ultimately settled on the Arturia v collection. I had a half off discount for some reason (seriously I have no idea why) and the sheer breadth of included keyboards made it easily the best value and fit for what I need right now. Thanks all for the recommendations! You guys rule.

I just bought it (previous post was based on demoing and shootouts) and can vouch that it is lovely. The UI and effects are enough to replace Dexed on their own, and the sound is close enough to put my itch for the hardware to rest. Repro, OBsession, OPS7...honestly, if it wasn't for round trip latency when tracking (I'm a pianist/live keys player so any disconnect bugs the hell out of me) and that last bit of smooth highs/low mid body, I'd go full ITB. Even then, the benefits of ITB synths are enough to make up for the differences in sound, and I have hardware modules that I use for direct monitoring when tracking MIDI.

Wow those Plogue things look great, I love digital synths.
Speaking of DX7 though, I own an original brown Yamaha keyboard, and the Arturia DX7 is totally convincing to me.
