Focusrite just announced the Clarett+ range. not a massive upgrade from the original clarett but enough that i'm keen to get one at some point to replace the scarlett

What's funny is that the Scarlett 3rd Gen's, are very nice indeed. I have the Solo.
The "Air Button" turned out to sound good on my voice. Though sometimes the Launcher sounds even better. Chris

yeah i have a gen2 and have really enjoyed using it. it might not be on the level of lynx converters but it has other areas it excels. the mix software is fantastic, i got lots of free excellent plugins by owning it and i used it to recorded many friends in remote locations on a laptop which is really what it's designed for and does an exceptional job at.
pairing it with a dedicated monitor chain made it into an excellent setup.
i almost upgraded to the clarett recently with the price drops and now i'm glad i bought mics instead lol.

i have a 4 channel clarett i was hoping to use as additional pres but it seems i can't use as a stand alone pre, strangely. i guess it'll live with my remote rig

I had done something similar in the past (though it was older Saffire/Scarlett gen stuff that used their internal mixer software) without issue.
