Really interesting 6 part with Rick Rubin and Paul. I was already obsessed with the Beatles - but this really showcases how talented these guys were. It’s impressive enough to just have the vision they had - but then to be able to execute it is incredible too. Those bass parts are like a world class session player that has unlimited imagination. The fact that these four people just happen to meet…all the stars aligning…just fascinating.

I binged the whole thing last night. It was quite cool. I didn't know Paul played the Taxman solo.

Summer of Soul and now this. Hulu seems to be putting an emphasis on music that I find lacking in Netflix. I may need to break down and subscribe.

If you're on verizon it's worth a look! They still have ads on hulu, but you have access the content, and for free I'm ok with that! This is on my list for this week for sure!

I had totally forgotten about Get Back!
Really made me appreciate Wings a little more. Is it just me or was it kind of an abrupt end?

Couple of things that occurred to me - whether right or wrong…
Paul was extremely talented - maybe the most talented in the group.
Paul is very precious with his image and the Beatle’s image. Guess I’m kind’ve cynical, but he was very, very guarded on what he said. Like - I get that it’s honorable to not speak I’ll of the dead, but for some reason I think we’re getting a hagiography.
Certainly not the first one to notice this - but Ringo was a really creative drummer Assuming he was the “best” drummer in the band…
It was interesting that validation really allowed them to be even more creative. Imagine having the freedom and confidence they had from 65 on. Guess it could cut both ways.

I would also have to kill to come up with the money to buy it.

I'm curious to know why the Neve is for sale after having just been used for this documentary? Wonder where it was before? Anybody know?

Agreed with all - this series was AMAZING! It popped up in my "New Releases" panel and I went into it not knowing a THING about it. Very well done... it was intriguing to hear all of those songs and associated tracks, isolated. I'm not personally a HUGE "Beatle-Head" - I LOVE their music but haven't taken the deep plunge........YET! 😜
HOWEVER, I DO own "Recording The Beatles: The Studio Equipment and Techniques Used To Create Their Classic Albums" which I cherish DEARLY and have studied Ad nauseam.. 👍

The Neve bcm20 that is for sale has no original 1073 modules, they are new 1073CV modules.

Alex at Hog Hill Mill did a blog about the gear HERE. He spoke with Joel Hamilton (of Studio G fame) who recorded the series.
