Definitely interested—curious of course what the price will be. Meanwhile I’m loving my new 76D. It far exceeds my expectations and I was expecting a lot!

I don't understand the "bigger and bolder than it's 73 cousin" since the 1290 is exact same preamp circuit as the 1073 just without the EQ.

I’m not sure I would want MORE low mids on a Neve pre. Other than that it looks great.

AS sometimes tweaks the circuit: have they made some changes to this so it sounds like super nevey?

I hope they make a full channel strip. Preferably a 19" 1U unit.

$800 isn't the considerable savings you see on most of their other gear but there's probably good reason for that. I'm surprised how AudioScape continues to find the parts for their products these days while some other boutique builders have really stalled because of Covid-caused supply chain issues.

They are still basically full price of anything else you'd want basically.

I would just think there’s less margin in 500…rack gear from some other makers is ridiculously overpriced.

Yeah that’s what I meant to say…cost less to make so they are discounted more. yet they aren't. That's my point. Most units from big names are 7-1200 a channel. Depending on if stereo or mono. Most mono stuff is 800-900 though. Not complaining really. I still hope to grab some of there 500 gear. But seems like it could be cheaper to match the full rack units in terms of a "good deal". But again. Id still buy it so not a lot of incentive to make it cheaper for them haha

I’m not being critical of AS at all but curious why the “savings ratio” doesn’t seem to be as high with the 500 series stuff. Maybe the smaller builds are more labor intensive or in the case of the Neve based pre NOS parts hike up costs. Whatever the rationale is I would take AudioScape at their word as I’m extremely impressed with the company.
