So when is this going to be compatible? Is it just M1's it's not working with or is it Big Sur too?

You just reduce your security settings to load big Sur, it should run fine.

UA has Intel and big Sur drivers , they both work fine, you just instal them differently. JK what do you think is not compatible ?

I am running Big Sur on my M1 Mac mini.... no probs...with Apollo x8 and satellite Octo TB2 cheers Wiz I'm working with a guitar player right now and he uses an Apollo X8p and Logic X with I believe a 2018 Intel MacBook Pro 15". I don't use Logic, but have in the past. I'm familiar with the software and to make things easier to work on this project I'm thinking about making the upgrade because my 2012's Mac's aren't going to be able to make the move because of the OSX upgrade I need to do to run Luna/Logic X/Studio One. Do we know if we can run Luna on M1's yet? I'm thinking Logic X should work on any Apple computer. I read that the MacBook Pro M1's don't support multiple monitors? Is this true? Just so much to learn about compatibility and hardware/software. I'm basically getting a new Mac(Preferrably M1-if I can use an external monitor with it?) That's my biggest issue, if I can't hook up an external monitor it's not going to work for me. Still researching...

Yes Luna runs on m1, you just need to boot in recovery mode and reduce security settings so UA OS kernel for Big Sur will install and set your admin password first.
I think you may need a doc to run 2 monitors.

You needed a dock to do it, and does that mean I will be able to use my interface without latency, or will there be added latency?

I haven’t run two monitors but if everything is tbolt , latency shouldn’t be an issue, unless you are doing something unusual with the signal path?

I'm trying to figure out how an extra monitor would introduce audio latency? If you are using an Apollo for tracking then it should be business as usual no matter how many monitors there are, right? Now, Luna itself can tax the computer, graphically. But I don't think that should impact audio latency. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see the connection.

I’m just wanting to keep my 2 monitor setup. I don’t know much about daisy chaining Thunderbolt cables, or is it usb-c? Anyway, just want to use new technology and see if it works for what I want to use it for. I like having one screen on mix window and one on editing window.

With a new m1 and X Apollo, both are tb3, so USB-c and the right cables, you should be fine. As long as the doc is USB-c/tb3, not certain latency would be an issue at all?
