Just wondered if anyone had spent more time with it. I need to do the trial again. After reading that it’s no different than using the actual plugs on the channel, I lost a little interest. I did try a mix with mostly those plugs - and it did sound different - not sure, better per se…but it makes you mix a certain way. Anyway - just wondering if someone had some insight on it before the sale ends.

There's definitely an advantage to having it all in one place like that, even more so than using the plugs. It feels a step closer to working on a console than using Plugin Alliance's channel strips. I've not really been doing much tracking with Luna (and I know there are some benefits there), but I have been doing some mixing with it. I've never used an actual API console, so can't really speak to the sound quality of this, but for a lot of electronic music that I've worked on, the UA API stuff can really make your percussion thwack and your synths vibrate nicely. When you add in the summing and tape options, I get to nice sounding mixes way faster with Luna than Ableton. Yes: I could save a default number of channels and busses with API stuff already in place in Ableton, and throw on some tape plugins here and there, but it doesn't have the same console/analog thing going for it that Luna does. I'm still definitely learning my way around, and on my non-retina monitor, the Luna API stuff has me investing in magnifying glasses, but I'm definitely intrigued by the overall console approach, and look forward to having more than just API consoles available.

Yeah. Think I’d rather wait for a Neve.

You could technically make a Neve right now with your pick of 1073/1084/88RS for channel strips and 2254/33609 for comps and save it as a template. You could even swap in the other UA Neve eqs if you preferred. The Neve summing really adds something pleasing especially on the low ohm setting. You’d at least get a general feel for a Luna-fied Neve console. I assume the next console they’ll integrate into the UI will be the Neve as they’ve already got the summing in place and they (somewhat) recently upgraded the Neve Dynamics stuff.

Yeah - I’ve been mixing in Luna for a while. I definitely like the Neve summing compared to the API.

I have been using it since it came out. Big fan.
Love having everything right there. Combined with Neve summing I am getting some great tesults. Dynamic on every channel, filters. ,,, fantastic for quickly dialling a mix.
I have 16 HW pres so I don’t use Unison but for mixing I am very happy.
I also have the API summing and on some projects it is preferred but my template has Neve and I only change if I feel its not working … I should probably try them both but a lot of what I’m doing is viby right now and the Neve works great.
I am looking forward to the Neve Console Emulation … I have the channel strip but never used it enough..
My HW pres are BAE and API mostly so I’m already combining the two styles on the way in.
