If you have a treated room and our close mike and know what you are doing, it should not be needed.

I used it on some spoken work stuff that was poorly recorded in an untreated room, saved my sanity that day.

Working on a friend’s record, and it is miraculously saving the day every day. His vocals (and a few other instruments) were not recorded in ideal conditions and retracking isn’t an option. It’s not magic, but it’s kinda close.
