So, I got the notice today when I went to use it that it's dead. I can still use it because I already "bought" it...but, new users can't download it.
Here's the thing...I've continued to use it primarily because it does better detection and correction of downbeat than Smart Tempo inside Logic. I fly it INTO Logic...and go from there. Every time I try to use Smart Tempo for a ground up recording IN Logic--raw mic to a mono audio track in "adapt"...I can't get it....there was an upgrade at some point I felt like put the smoothing of Music Memos in....but, have the improved that in the last point release? I'm still on High Sierra...so...LPX.4x?
So, with that being retired...have they actually gotten Logic's inbuilt capable of the same results?

Have you tried Voice Memos instead?
Once a file is recorded, it has a share function, which can send file to your Mac, then just import into session, when you right click on it smart functions drop down should open .

Smart tempo that is……I knew they had dropped music memos… I always had to do some editing of the time markers…. But it was still pretty quick cheers Wiz

Ive never gotten it anywhere near Music Memos….record….almost always have to alter the start time/downbeat…..and its done. Fly it in.
Kcat, voice memos is an audio recorder. music memos did the tempo mapping….and provided a basic drum beat to check against to make sure it got it all. I dont want to record on my iPad/phone….I never have…..its that Music Memos preceded Smart Tempo doing the function, so you HAD to….so, when they implemented Smart Tempo I did all the needed upgrades to run that latest Logic so I WOULDNT have to record on my ipad…..only, Smart Tempo never worked as well. So, i kept using MM.
I did some tunes for a friend, and now i have a bunch more….but, i use Smart Tempo on his Quicktime videos to flatten his less than stellar tempo. The Drummer only eneded up in 1 of 3 tunes. I dont think thats coincidence. These were always intrinsically linked for me. MM creating an auto tempo mapping, and the alogic Drummer “following” the map and same audio. I started using it last night with ME playing. It was a nightmare….it would detect a slow down where there wasnt one….and end up throwing the whole rest off by a beat or two by the time it “found me” again. And i was doing nice consistent strumming for it….knowing what it wants….
Im really wondering if anyone is using this and if they ever improved it, since they're retiring MM. i dont know how far I can upgrade this old laptop….but if it needs a newer OS—this is literally the only remaining use for it. IPad has taken over HD music streaming….so….this is basically a drum machine. If theyve improved in the last few point releases, Ill bite the bullet and make the machine slow to get it there.

Ive been forcing myself to use Logic alone for the tempo detection for this three song project. It seems to help to have it give you a count off (only) and start right where you should. Then, unlike MM, its easy to enable flex time and just smooth out any rough spots before you open the drummer.
….still it does these things-i just did a take, example….134bpm’ish….i jumped right into the first verse….chorus….second verse….second chorus….and it mapped it perfectly fine until the second chorus a few beats in, without anything odd in the performance it just starts calling it 122bpm….and then by the end of the chorus it ramps back up to 132’sh for the next section….makes that whole chorus of course unusable….in this case, Ill copy/paste the first chorus in its place….but, its not like detecting some jump from a rushed hit and getting off by a beat, which might be understandable….or not like i just sustained a chord for a measure and expected it to get the ritard and find the one from pickup riff….i mean, I GET how this can go sideways—Ive done this mapping human tempo with a lot of tools for a long time. But, this isnt anything ive seen….including my years of Music Memos.

Weird, have you expanded the tempo area and confirmed it wasn’t ramped ?

Upload the track you want to detect and let me have a look at it

Copy/pasted around it all last week.
I always have the tempo lane open when iM doing this, if that what you mean Cat. Yes, it was ramping….inexplicably….as Im playig the same thing i played last verse….and there no confusing it for an 8 bar ritard of 15bpm….i mean I see the result problem….just not the cause.
MM would misdetect things….but it was always pretty understandable at a musical level that a transient detcting algorithm would be thrown….so you adoat what you play….becuase Im not keeping anything here EXCEPT the tempo map and resultant Drummer part.

No possibility of any inadvertent automated tempo changes? Logic does do illogical things sometimes ?
