Got it...
Made my Focals sound insanely bright and thin, but when I dialed it back to 30%, just about perfect. Repaired my soundstage big time, took out the 150 Hz bump. Turning it off the speakers sound dark and the bass is sort of out phase or something. This is a big helper. My reference albums sound better, which proves that it works. My sort of impossible room setup has now been somewhat neutered. My old mixes still sound good, so I was making it work without the software, but it should be even easier to mix now.
The Polks I also use, behind me, the TSi100, were another story. 100% Sonarworks was magic with these. I thought they were OK speakers, but the A/B with Sonarworks makes them sound StOoPid without it.
Also really like this on the HD6XX headphones. Tertally impressed with the software. Going to try recording with the measurement mic just to see how it sounds on acoustic guitar.

Ah, with the calibration file so it’s flat ? Yeah I use the mic with its measured curve as the flat reference. For my speaker "target" I've been using the flat target. But I did mess with the NS11 and Mixcube settings and they were both cool and seemed useful. I'm enjoying this sound so much I'm just playing music for hours right now, getting lost in it. Getting lost in sound quality, LOL! Everything sounds "right." This is a rare audible quality. What a great piece of kit for 200 bucks or whatever. Might save me out in untreated spaces in the wild.

I should be paid for my proselytizing for SW. It was and is a game-changer for me. Should be getting mine next week I guess I owe you one, hehe. Excited to see what it's all about. Do the 30 day free demo period first….. it’s an addictive technology

good points. i run my tops full range and the sub has a band pass which I turn down to 50-60hz. I don't hit it much as I can't stand the overlap that usually happens creating mud and boomy bass guitar I do the same with mine. I've got it on a TC Autopilot for level control because I run it from the Meter output on the Burl B26. I rarely use it along with the mains. Mostly just solo'd to see if the kick and bass are getting along or not.

I’m still on Ref 4, on headphones these days. There are times when it annoys me because things will be sounding good on my M-50s, then I’ll turn on SW correction and suddenly my top end goes dull.
I later figured out that the M-50s have a peak at 10k and smaller humps on either side (according to the SW averaged curve), so now it makes sense that everything will lose top end when that gets dipped in the same area to compensate.
It’s hard to get past the sort of smeared/filtered sound that you get from correcting headphones, but it definitely helps with frequency balances. With monitors it sounds more clear after correcting.

I'm curious how this works as a plugin, especially in a hybrid setup. I use the console as a summing mixer and have an analog compressor on the mix bus. If outboard is used, I record it back into PT for recalls, and keep notes on the mix bus hardware setting.
Would I put SW as an insert on the PT mix channel and put it in INPUT while mixing? The plugin would only be heard, but not printed into the tracks as it's recorded. So what I send the mastering engineer would be the "pure" off the console, through the mix bus comp, because I only HEARD through the SW plugin so I made decisions on individual tracks and busses based on the correction.
Or am I completely clueless?

Or am I completely clueless? You have it right! The easiest way to do it is to put SW on a master track and make inactive when printing the final mix.

Studio One has a “listen bus” that you can enable after the master bus. That’s where I put Sonarworks when I use it.

While Reaper has a 'Monitoring FX' option where you can place Sonarworks and other plug-ins that you don't want rendering into the final mix (for instance, that's where I put MetricAB)
