Soooooo...someone on the internet did a test.
I figured - if nothing else - you cats might want to hear it! It's on YouTube but there's a link to some downloadable files, too.

What's the cliff notes version? The video is 1 minute long. He plays a comparison between the two. I'm suspicious about the comparison because the first cut is at a transition point between sections in the song. The next times he cut I had my eyes closed and I got an interesting result. I'm not the most eagle-eared. He's normally pretty reliable (regarding level-matching, etc.) when it comes to comparisons so - while I'm suspicious - I'd bet any differences a person might hear are really there. The full-res files are available if you'd like to compare.

No difference.
Honestly I use Van Damme cable a lot for guitar cables. It's one of the lowest capacitance instrument cables you can get.

Depends on the cable and situation, a year of RF hell from the living 1/4 mile from the candleabra antenna that held every major Madison broadcast Transmitter and a year and 1/2 of having WMTV and Z104’s towers right behind Full Co when we were on Odana RD made me a believer in Canare Starquad!!! As well as my broadcast clients. The lower noise floor is a big part of Mogami. Ray Kimbers Kables always sound better ( doesn’t everybody use Doubled up 8tc on passive speakers?) MIT cable can sound like the guy who designed it went to MIT! Is it worth it is always the first question, the second is did somebody use actual science or did the ad dept design it?
