Be advised that the Capitol Chambers is a hungry beast. I have one octo card and have never had a problem with capital chambers? I had a UA Solo card to start with. Still do use it. Bought an Octo Satellite to complement and solve the processing demand issues. Works great, but my statement did make some assumptions there.

I own the Galaxy Tape, and it's fine, but at UAD prices I think you get as good of a product going with something like the Arturia Tape Delay-201, or even the AudioThing OuterSpace. Both have more useful features, although I guess a purist might scoff I don't really know why. I don't think these native plugins really hit your CPU hard, so save the DSP for other heavier stuff.
I bought this when I was still pretty new to mixing and I thought I was covering more bases with getting a spring reverb in there. I do like using the reverb with the delay in some cases, but it's not a go-to reverb at all when I just want a spring reverb. (There aren't many good sounding spring reverb plugins, sadly.)
That RMX16 is awesome. I hate the interface, but it really offers nice sounding options. Ocean Way and Capitol Chambers should be required purchase for every UAD customer. Haha. I also use the APEX on nearly every mix (in Logic).
Those summing products are Luna only. FYI

All good, UA publishes an instance chart which shows the plug ins processing power consumption. You are right that a good reverb plug in will need a certain amount of processing, but had not read before that CC uses an unusually high amount of processing.

Just demoed the freedman buxton it’s excellent Thanks for the tip will switch from the gav 19 What is unison? Unison is an Apollo thing where certain plugins tell the hardware to change input impedance, to more closely match the experience of plugging into the emulated gear. Preamps, some of the delays, the guitar amps, I think are some of the Unison plugins.

Ocean Way is on my short list also, that thing is pretty special.

Yes and I think Unison works overall with the preamps.
Although you can insert the Softtube Marshalls and Edens, and Brainworx (everything else) into the Unison slots, the only amp that is changing the impedance is UAD's Fender 55. UAD also gives the Unison treatment to the Korg delay, and the Rat pedal.
It's a clever idea in my mind, although some consider it marketing drivel.

I already have UAD loading all their plugins on my computer. IK's install methods just seem too much. I really like the Arturia, which I only got because of a great bundel price, but it's quite flexible and fills that tape delay sound.

Is the Sonnox Limiter V3 worth it?

I already own the legacy vision strip. Could I use the 4 for $399 to buy the 2500, upgraded vision strip, API summing and maybe one other expensive item and then use the $25 coupon towards the $49 API pre? So then I would complete the API bundle and get the API console plugs by default, right? It would end up being $450, but still cheaper than the $524 my bundle currently is being offered.

Yes, many users are using the 3+1s to get the LUNA API Bundle for free.

Well, technically 1 of the 4 plug ins is free, in the sense that you are not paying anything more than the sale price for 3, but you are getting 4 plug ins of your choice.

Drew @ UA Could I skip upgrading the legacy vision strip and still get the console plugs? Basically, the only way you can get the console plugs is if you buy everything, right?

No, the new strip is needed.

OK - that chart clears it up. Again - the console API plugs and the API Vision strip are the same thing - they just allow you to offload to native...
I'm just not sure the 2500 isn't redundant for my needs...and I don't use Apollo pres.

Anyone using the RMX16? I am wondering about that.... cheers Wiz I know it's not helpful, but the real thing (David Kulka serviced) slays the shit out of the plugin (incl. the revision).
That said, the plugin is awesome if you don't have access to the physical unit. One of my UA favorites for a long time.

Yes, many users are using the 3+1s to get the LUNA API Bundle for free. I think it's a bit ridiculous that you guys do such a shell game with the sales and such. Used to be load up at xmas and you understand the bottom line.
I get you have a business to run, but UA has definitely moved over to the Avid block as far as revenue is concerned.
(Full disclosure, I answer to both pimps in one way or another.)

Not sure what you mean by shell game, but I can tell you that we have an incredibly complex array of hardware/software offerings that sometimes makes it difficult/challenging to get the webstore to react accordingly for each users unique situation. This is what I was addressing in mentioning the 3+1 bundle idea, offering a way for our users to get the most out of the sale and the LUNA API Bundle release.
Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts.
