Does anyone know if there are more of these still to come, or are all of the 609s already spoken for?

I haven’t seen anything about cancellations.

Once we complete all shipments (4 weeks ETA) we should have about 20 left or so before it sells out until 2022.
Sadly is getting hard to get parts.

Goddamn, that thing smokes the UAD. I wasn't expecting the difference to be that big. I want one now.

Not saying plugs can't sound good in their own way doing their own thing, but focusing on the depth and dimension here as one of the first things I listen for on a plugin makes it not even close to me, the difference is pretty huge with the hardware way more than the proverbial 5% better than plugs phrase you often hear people use. My wallet doesn't always like it, but my ears love the depth and dimension of the hardware over the plug by a mile.

Goddamn, that thing smokes the UAD. I wasn't expecting the difference to be that big. I want one now. The UAD one has a weird attack thing - maybe that weird attack thing is just the difference in the 2ms and 3ms...maybe I can go in and run the slow attack which is 4ms. Every time I've used the UAD one I just always thought it sounded really "snappy" - which really isn't what I want. In fact, to me, that's one of the biggest differences in HW compression vs. SW compression. The HW 609 seems to handle the attack effortlessly. The SW not so much. I actually backed off the threshold on the SW because the headroom was different...Anyway - not meant to be scientific. The Stam does what a thing with 4 transformers should do...adds that punch and harmonic content.

Obviously that's out of the context of a mix. But yeah, the Stam has thunk on the snare. Difference between HW and SW not subtle in this case.

These are over exaggerated. In fact, I think I probably would use this in parallel, smash it and then blend it in. Both units set to 6:1 heavily compressed. Around -15 GR. The UAD attack is now set to slow - think it sounds better actually. Oh - and took the verb off the snare... You can hear the Stam starting to pump here where the UAD doesn’t. And that’s what I would expect the HW to do.

Slow attack on UAD is totally the sound I go for on parallel drum comp. Those sounds make me think "I wish I made music where this didn't have to be parallel". Is that Stam also slammed or is it the same settings as before? Because it almost sounds usable as is. Still pretty aggressive on the high frequencies but these drummers shouldn't be allowed to play cymbals anyway. Just ask Paul Simon. (Reference to recent TapeOp issue)
