For anyone with any interest, for any reason, I’ve finally organized pictures of my Barbaric Amplification collection and I’ll be adding more to my folder as I collect more! It’s even bigger than it appears because I have pairs of over half. If you log into Google and click the square on the bottom-left of each picture, you should be able to see comments I added of the main parts used. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YgsVqXV2vJXE0yg8xFU-1LfIA9JoXdSb?usp=sharing

Nice! Curious about the use of EV capsules in the SD37. Care to elaborate?

Wow. Quite a collection. I have one Barbaric m49 style mic, based on a totally different mini tube and a Thiersch M7 capsule that sounds pretty great on anything. But you have gone way beyond.

Nice! Curious about the use of EV capsules in the SD37. Care to elaborate? Knowing how awesome the RE200 is, because of how great the “mini CK12” (as Chris affectionately labeled them) capsule is in them, but extremely bright (without harshness), I figured marrying them with Chris’ C37A-inspired circuit would put the top-end volume in its place. I was right! What I wasn’t thinking about at the time is how a Chris” 5480 and OEP transformer combo naturally compresses so nicely! This combo of the capsule, tube, and transformer has an amazing balance while still providing excitement with the compression. I was planning to use the RE200 bodies, but after pulling them apart, getting them back together just wasn’t happening! Oddly enough, the RE200 capsules fit perfectly in the ST31 bodies without any modification or additional work.

Ha, I guess any comments aren’t visible on my phone!
In the broadest sense, which of these builds is your favorite? How many of them have you ever compared to the “real thing”? How’s that u67?
Ok...I’ll shut up now.

Anyhow, let me think about your further questions.

I keep hearing more and more about how great BA is.

Nice collection! Are these pics from Chad's bench or yours? They are all from Chris’ bench. This is all his handy work... Just my crazy ideas, inspired by others, and how some of his standards came to be.

Ok...I’ll shut up now. I’ve not compared anything to the real things; nor am I really itching to at all. I’m so over vintage now, now that I have these mics. I don’t care if they sound like the real things or not, and a lot of them are not intended to at all, as they’re inspired by mods of the original mics; modded so much, that they’re really completely their own thing. That 67 is one of those. You can tell by the parts chosen. Can’t really say which is my favorite. That’s like picking a favorite child! I will say my versions of BA mics are to be reckoned with! Depending on what anyone is looking for, I can make recommendations.

I’ll have to look... I can’t remember and it’s been since 2014 that I looked inside. It probably won’t be another week or two before I get to the studio again though.

It’s mu canned, but I’m nearly-completely positive that it’s an A262A3E in there. I believed they have an A262A3C now, which is the A262A3E already with a mu metal can.
