Interesting, could be useful, but what do they charge? It seems from the video that the proposal half is free which leads me to assume they take a percentage of the payment...which would suck. Idk...
Edit: looks like they charge a 8% fee for processing the payment, which seems outrageous to me. You can subscribe to a really nice proposal app for $20/month and use Venmo for free...

Haven't watched the clip yet, but holy cow - 8% is truly outrageous. Like insane.

Paying musicians up front? What will they think of next!

This came from Dave at Pensado’s place . I was just sharing not recommending. All these services charge.
They sell the sizzle not the steak, what’s 8% of your time worth chasing money owed.
If this gets you $ faster or guaranteed, is the charge too high ?
Just playing devil’s advocate.

Filepass will do this for much cheaper, as will just subscribing to one of dozens of proposal apps and for a flat rate. I’d rather pay $20-50/month flat than 8%. 8% is a lot of my income.

Agreed % based payments are just a way to siphon off larger amounts of money than concrete fee for service !

This isn’t a fit for the music industry. We already have an established framework of contracts, wire deposits, and payment at show settlement. For smaller bands playing local venues they usually have a door deal. And if it’s a small gig at a bar etc for a flat fee no bar owner is going to use an app to pay someone $250 unless it’s Paypal etc.
There’s a glut of app builders targeting the music business. Most of the ideas are from people who don’t understand the business and they’re just looking to make a buck with an app startup.
There’s one now where people can pay their tab without coming to the bar. Terrible idea for bar owners. We want people to come to the bar to close out their tab. To hear how the show went and to buy some shots.
