yep just controllers. So you can have as many plugins as you want and the controller with control all of them one at a time.

Yep. So if you have say 4 of the DVT250 reverbs you can cycle between the plugin instances on the controller and tweak them separately as needed.

They could open their rack and USB connectivity protocols so other manufacturers could make modules for that rack they showed. That would make it even cooler.
I just don't see myself buying ALL TC ones .. so would be nice to mix and match... Kinda like 500 series spec for plugin tactile controllers!

Yes but only for soft tube plug ins if they would open their controller for other ssl alike plug ins I wouldn’t hesitate to press buy.

Currently, I am working on something 80s alike, and I ask myself if it can get more intuitive with a simple controller. My research showed, the only thing that is close to a console is the SSL Nucleus which is 4 K in Euro. I think it's a fact that a DAW is not a console and I have to accept this.
A one fader solution for automation is the best I can do.
I had this with the Frontier Fader (forgot the name), but the company ran out of business and the thing was dead as soon I upgraded my OS.
I think the Behringer Touch One is a good thing and has pretty much the best user reviews off all one fader solutions.
Its very unlikely that Behringer will go out of business.

The most console like controller is the AVID S6 because it is a digital console and a controller. Behringer is terrible but with most of his high end purchases Uli has been pretty good, we have to look at it this way without Behringer there probably wouldn’t be a TC electronics anymore.

You would be surprised how good some B gear got in the past 6 years. But overall yes most B gear sucks Seems Mr. B is running a few companies not depending on his mother ship, sure this can be a good thing. AKG / TC / KT / Midas what’s next? Anyway from all one fader controllers for automation and basic daw controls it was the B. which got the least error reports by users plus it was a special offer @ 100 bucks worth to give it a try. But yes if money would not be an issue I would buy the biggest mouse in the world. I promise I win the lottery next week....

Uh, no.
The only thing close to a console is a console. I run my console with my DAW all the time - the DAW effectively functions as a tape machine with enhanced functions.
Actually I don't understand why more people don't do this - it solves a lot of problems and also gives all the functions of a DAW with the benefits of the console. It does take up some room though, although something smaller than a 32x8x2 would help with that problem considerably.
The console does have moving fader automation, but I generally don't use it. Daw automation is easier, due to the problems of having to sync to physical tape.

You name it John and yes I know consoles, meanwhile - for me - consoles are outdated technology.
May there is one exception to the AWS ...
But alas if I weigh the advantages and disadvantages DAW / Console ...
I see my self with a controller unit. I already did the first step already, it was a good decision to try it.
Some use typewriters, some use computers.
There is nothing wrong with both options.

For me the ability to manipulate faders and knobs simultaneously on 2 or more channels simultaneously is a key feature of working on a console. Espececially, but not exclusive to working things like reverbs on multiple channels.
My console does nearly anything (possibly everything, I'm not certain) that the AWS can do and didn't cost $100,000 for 24 channels.
My cost, used, was $6,000 for 32 channels, 64 available for mixdown. My console also has the ability to split each channel in two and has both small and large faders on each channel, with the ability to swap. Granted, at $6,000 I did get one bad fader - whoop-de-do....

It's nice if you enjoy working this way. And I guess you track a lot of bands, a console makes a lot of sense for your workflow.
Still use my DELTA 200 in tracking having every real instrument ready on the console.
But once everything is in the box, since the newer plug ins work well enough for me, I sparely use HW in mix mode, if at all.
