Dbox+ or Monitor ST?
Is the Monitor ST a better sounding box?

Sound Skulptor MC624.

I really like my dbox+
It gets extra points for being able to have control from their phone or iPad app. Makes it really nice to sit in the sweet spot and change monitors or volume without having to reach for anything.
Plus you get the summing. If you’re into that sort of thing.

It you want something simpler and affordable, I just grabbed a Heritage Baby RAM and I really dig it. Obviously, if you need more features it won’t work, but as a simple passive controller, it totally rocks.

Drawmer is cheap, nice, and warm with better treble than the Dangerous analog circuit imho but they’re both a little smoothed out. I just think those old school Burr Brown opamps have more of a sound.

I have the Monitor ST. It works great. I love it and would buy it again.

If you need something simple I can recommend the Coleman TB4 (or really anything by Coleman). It’s fantastic, simple, passive, doesn’t have a sound that I can hear and is my most useful piece of gear by far.

I'm using the Drawmer MC2.1, it sounds really good and has good functionality, but the main pot gets scratchy after a while and you have to replace it. It's the Achilles heel of an otherwise stellar monitor controller.

I have a Dangerous 2 Buss+ and Dangerous Convert Converters, so I'm probably going to stick with another Dangerous music piece. I currently have the Source and it's ok, but I need to step it up a notch.

Get a great tech to make you exactly what you want - i used Rob Squire from Proharmonic in Aus and totally no issues in the several years i've had it. Cheers, Ross

The RAM is killer. I love the stepped knob. Not only for LR matching, but for remembering exactly where you set it. It is bigger than it looks though. Only gripe that some people have is that the knob is rather loud when it clicks.

Hey the mains volume on the 80 series neve consoles clicked pretty loud too and I’ve never heard anybody complain about that!
