Maybe you can run a tone generator signal sweep at a strong level and force it to happen? There might be some tone generator phone app to try, fed through a line amp for more gain? At least to rule out that it’s not a level/frequency event.

At least to rule out that it’s not a level/frequency event. It’s not my gear. I’m just mixing it. It was tracked this way by a known name. Someone who’d you expect to end up with something like these raw tracks if he had to record real people playing real instrument but the band also had some issues. |
