You can see the stomp switch in that instagram multi photo too, it's in the blurry background.

And now the email referring to "three new tone machines"...
Looks pretty clear that there are three new pedals coming out.
I'm guessing a reverb, modulation, and delay.
If they somehow can interface with the Apollo's realtime, this could be pretty cool. If they are just standalone pedals, UA is first entering a very crowded and competitive market at a point in time in which there is already market saturation.

Big UAD fan here with an Ox Amp, X16, X4, two Octo and one Quad Satellite and over 50 UAD plugs, but as proud as UAD seems to be of these pedals, being a guitar player for 45 years, I will take a strong pass on these pedals. I will stick with my current pedal board and my AXE FX III.

They remind me of the Source Audio stuff. I’ll bet these are big sellers in the guitar world though. I’m sure all the big YouTube demo people already have their vids ready to go. I totally get why UA is moving in this direction, but I’m really not interested anymore.

Do you have to have an Apollo to run them?

I can't help but laugh at myself here. Last year I thought they were releasing the ultimate control surface and it ended up being a DAW. This year I thought it would be a Kemper style amp and it ends up being stomp boxes. I'm feeling really out of touch

This is not something I would expect UA to release nowadays.
I'm surprised, but not in a good way.

Yeah, not really impressed either. Haha! Ba humbug. The thing that blows me away is people actually pay for $400 single effect pedals, I can't do it.
Although I was thinking about a few Strymons, the Volante I want. IMO the price point is too high on the UAD fx.
There are way too many things I would go for, for less money than these.

Damn. I love UA, but this doesn't really tick any boxes for me.
I do hope it goes well for them, though. And I will say they at least look (and probably sound) great.

The blending between a preset and another setting without a sound cutout is pretty damn cool. I'm definitely not not interested. Price is high but as studio tools, I'm always looking for something solid.

A bit of an anticlimax (may have to do with the fact that I'm not a guitarist). Wish all the best to UA with this product. If the pedals go well, more money will come in to the UA developers for the upcoming integrated control surface for LUNA *blink, blink*.

I am a guitarist primarily, so in honor of this UA product announcement, I just ordered a used Strymon Volante.
If anyone wants a barely used MXR Carbon Copy Mini for about $120 let me know.

I smell bullshit. What is this? Some more expensive than Eventide attempt to compete with Eventide? What? And the people who bought into UAD to buy this already own many of these fx and they need a computer with the upcoming UAFX program to fully control them.
the H9 Max pedal is 700 bucks new and 500 used. All three of these are 1200 together + you need a computer for true bypass
“Classic UA analog design and robust craftsmanship, built to last decades” The classic UAD analog design? An NE5532 instead of a TL071 in a pedal! A made in China, SMT board that’s going to be kicked around will last 20 years? Maybe on a bedroom shelf or a home office desk

Here's the Vintage King rundown w/ pics and they're own videos - vintageking.com/blog/2021/01/universal-audio-uafx-effects-pedals/They're interesting but not too interested myself at $400 for a single effect? If it was a true multi-effects box, like a Line6 stomp or Boss MS3 killer at double the money they might have my attention. Who knows they might be really cool but I don't have any immediate attraction to these over say, an Eventide H9. One thing I didn't see, what are the power requirements? Are they totally stupid or can they run off a standard 9 volt center negative power supply?

Assuming that they use a Sharc, just like the Strymon, I'm guessing that they would also be 9v, but that also might mean that they draw a lot of current. My Strymon pedals require a minimum of 250 mA.

I just don't see $1200 to purchase the three pedals. If I didn't already have a pedal board and and AXE FX III, I would purchase the Fractal Audio FM3 for $999 before I could see myself dropping the coin on these pedals.
