subspace thanks! PA just confirmed as well! Just purchased I got the mix master bundle for $149.99. I had 5 plugs in my cart, narrowed to 3 & they were around $120. A pop up said I could get a year for $149 + $199.99 PA plugin voucher to purchase w/e plugins I liked/ used the most out of the sub. Will mess around w the sub ( & AAX DSP ) on some older sessions & narrow down the key players. Don’t want to use a subscription on clients work & have a recall a year later & be dead in the water cuz I didn’t buy a perm license to a rando pluggo. Only downside i see atm. You can score the rando license you might need next Christmas for cheap. Don't worry about. Use them all!

I'm goo-goo over the channel strips, I own all of them. They're a little big on my screen but they sound great. I also like a lot of the digital utilities like bx_Control. I've used a ton of them once, a few several times, and I even own a few I haven't opened. SPL does things differently, so they landed on my last purchase about an hour ago. I have the Iron and now the Passeq. They both sound "big" and have "vibe" for days. The Vitalizer is also really good and can be pushed quite a bit further than some other "maximizers" or "exciters" without getting gross. The Plugin Alliance version is updated compared to the older UAD code so it should be better in some ways. I guess PA washed their hands of UAD code porting and UA just sells legacy code. I really don't know what goes behind the scenes. If you want to get away from UAD plugins, just buy the Plugin Alliance equivalents. The Ampeg bass amps for example, are magnificent. UAD's guitar pedals are 25% more realistic than the Plugin Alliance pedals, but I ain't paying no god damned hundred bucks for a big muff and a tube screamer code. I usually use free or peanut price guitar pedals in the box. And they are literally all around me in physical form at any given time when I'm playing my stacks. The sale was great I am racking them up. There are some I will never buy, of course. The Channelstrips GUIs are too big for me. And I absolutely hate the Lindell GUI. It's such a bitch to work with the ring switches on every channel if you use 1084 when you have RSI problems. I don't mind them on other plugs that much like Infinistrip but I hate the way they work on Lindell.

BE-100 is a really good Marshall in the box. But Amplitube 5 and the free Poulin HyBrit are also great. A lot of them sound pretty similar, really. Yeah none of them really nail "Marshall" to me though. The worst is the Softube Kerry King. It's one of the worst amp sims I've tried. Since Guitar Rig six I am no longer sure if statements like this will hold true in the next year. Amp sims are all great at clean and distorted like crazy. But if I want that the distortion goes with the dynamics in my phrasing / articulation I am better with something real. So Native is on something with their latest guitar rig, which always was a creative tool for non purists / bureaucrats ....

Yeah save that $250 voucher for the summer or winter Mega Sale, or snipe them individually when they come up for ten bucks or whatever. Recall is not guaranteed even with a DAW system. It's easier than hardware, but it's still not infinite. Best idea as it always has been is to nail the mix. Happy hunting.

Any love for the Maag EQ4? It’s on special today for $30, and I have a $25 coupon.

Yes, the air band is pretty special , and it is very versatile with its various bands.
Hard to go wrong at that price. May not become your go to eq, but if you need to sort of combine surgical and musical to fix a problem: it’s a useful tool

Shoot, I missed that part of the email - I'd forgotten that restriction. Looks like you have to spend at least $32. And as far as I can tell, PA doesn't take tips. With their cheapest plugs at $30, you'd have to spend $60 - $25 = $35 to get Maag EQ4 today, which is more expensive than just buying it for $30. Those clever rascals.

Any love for the Maag EQ4? It’s on special today for $30, and I have a $25 coupon. I think the free one Luftikus is just as good, or better. But you could do your own comparison. For five bucks though, if you can get that price, sure why not. The PA one has more of a "box tone" and the Luftikus is more flexible. The levels are not stepped.

I throw the Maag on female R+B vocals by default, it gets them to a very familiar place, very quickly. I've got a $50 monthly voucher that has a minimum spend of $75, $5 more than anything I want to pick-up.

I like the Maag Magnum K comp. Haven’t delved into the consoles yet. Black Box really makes some ITB verbs come to life. MC77 doesn’t sound like an 1176 to me. Townhouse is cool, little dirtier n slower than VSC2. A lot of the brainworx stuff I like. Dyn Eq2 for De ess, XLV2 for loud masters, limiter for limiting & adding harmonics, meter for RMS & K system.
Weird my perm PA license & plugs disappeared for my sub, only had a couple but still. Also still haven’t received my $199 voucher. My year sub was actually 372 days I’m at 366 now. I got the $199 sub that’s was on sale for $149, w a $199 voucher.

I got bx_rockrack V3 bundled with Carbon and added Friedman's BE-100 in the holiday sale, so was thinking I just need to add one of their AAX DSP Ampegs, then they gave one away today free. Looking forward to shooting it out with ye olde SansAmp pedal for no latency DI tracking.

I really dig the free SVT. Bass player in the band I was in for a long time played a Blueline SVT like this. Sounded amazing but man do I not miss lugging that thing (in it's giant roadcase) up the double flight of stairs to our rehearsal space. And that's to say nothing of the 8x10. But seriously, that head + case was like 200 lbs.
Anyway, this emulation sounds rad. Better than anything else I've got for bass right now.

Yes, just rocked the Ampeg SVT-VR Classic though the Carbon's DI and DSP monitoring, killer, the SansAmp Bass Driver is headed for retirement. I put Eleven MKII's '69 Blue Line on another track to compare, but no contest, went back to Brainworx and grooved until I noticed a blister forming, time to practice a bit more on the regular.
