Sorry, don't have a Bluey, but my pair of 76As are awesome. Great quality and they sound great. Highly recommended.

Thx, the bluey, has the current hype, and does seem like a very good unit, but AS, has its rep, which leads me to think, it will sound and perform great in a more modern classic clone sense?

I may order both, cus otherwise, I will always wonder simple enough to return one or the other but being up here in Canada, I still have to pay a pretty high shipping cost just to demo something that’s all she wrote!

Sweetwater has a good video with cla: directly comparing to a stock original 76a,
Simply put original seems a little clearer and more top end, bluey seems to have more low to mid forward sound: it’s not huge but you hear it.

I didn't get to compare them side by side but I have used them both. I love absolutely love AudioScape but I went with the Bluey in this case. It is more agressive/colorful than any other 1176 I've used(AudioScape, Stam, Serpent, Purple, Warm). Keep in mind, the Bluey is modeling a unit that has been modded. Also, the wet/dry knob has become indispensable.

Personally, when in doubt, I'd veer towards Audioscape. I hope Audioscape stays in business for many years, and predict their products will easily retain most of their value (probably more!) over time. Chris P.S. That new Audioscape Pre, is another temptation!

No question AS makes great products, it just comes down to if you want that more aggressive tone adn wet/dry control ?

I think it's great, you know what you're looking for. I'm still learning, to understand all that more. Chris

Ha ha. the Audioscape quality is well established and I frankly thing it’s parts quality is likely higher than the bluey, but don’t know that for a fact.
I won’t know, which I prefer, unless using them both here on the same mix.

Their Auteur MKII Pre has crossed my mind more than once. Michael Joly retired from modding some time back, but I remember he liked their stuff. Shoot I even like my Nanoverb, because it has a cool sounding Reverb Plate (#1). Excellent for Rockabilly/Early Rock. Chris

I also have been tempted by the 1176 bug. I have an Audioscape F a Grahamtec Blue and a KT Black and I still want more. I was thinking of a bluey or another Audioscape.

I’m planning on the AS now, but , of course, have the auction dilemma. I had one in my basket months ago but didn’t pull trigger: dufus!

I have a Bluey & a Stam ADG. Been thinking about getting an AudioScape 76A in here again to hear them all side by side. Could be fun 😁

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a Bluey. That dry/wet option seems great. Bluey is, hands down, one of the best compressors I’ve ever used. I wish I hadn’t returned mine, but I fully intend on buying another one ASAP. It really is a special piece of kit. Very different from any other 1176, almost has a tube-like sort of quality to it. If it’s as close to CLA’s blue stripe as they claim, I can see why he loves it so much. I haven’t used the AS, so I can’t comment, but I’m sure it’s amazing in its own right. Of course, hadaja will have to let us know how they compare.
