I know it’s Neve but too bad it wasn’t a little lower in price.

I know it’s Neve but too bad it wasn’t a little lower in price. Unless you're a mastering house or Andrew Scheps, $4k to spend on two channels of AD is a lot. I'm not saying that they aren't good or that they aren't worth it. I'm just saying that these are priced for a different bracket than most people are in.

Agreed, if you put this head to head with Dangerous ad +, as was suggested earlier, which would you pick for best value?

How do you guys think this compares to the Dangerous Music 2 Bus + ? just speculation here but Im guessing its much more colored than the Dangerous box. Or at least can be more colored.

Aaand....Curiosity got the better of me. I’ll have one here in a week or so for comparison to my Dangerous AD+. one thing about the Dangerous unit is the Hammond transformers when engaged roll off a little low end, which can sound nice but can be hit or miss for some tracks. I’m assuming the MBC TX’s will not have any roll off and will be an overall more flexible unit for tone shaping. the limiter in small amounts looks useful too.

What intrigues me here is the limiter and the conversion on the 2 bus on the way back in... been looking for the right move on both those fronts. What I wonder about is this... currently I’m summing on a Heritage MCM8, then hitting their Successor, and sometimes an eq... and I’m getting some sonics I really like out of that chain that are console-like... a slightly wider, deeper stereo image, euphonic sounds... so that’s two sets of Carnhills in the chain already. So, additional Neve signal path, potentially more colored, too... does that sound like too many layers of similar coloration? Or heaven in a 19” rack?
Hot takes/gutshot reactions kost welcome.

I have a pair of RND 542’s and those transformers can go from subtle to pretty heavy handed. Hope that helps.

Before my AD+ When I was printing To my Burl I wasn’t digging the B2 transformer sound on every mix print. Some stuff it was cool, others it rounded things off a bit too much. The fact that most converter makers are adding Switchable color options is super cool. I use outboard on my 2 buss..lots of transformers and tubes yet my approach is always try the color options.if it sounds good it is good.

So is this kinda like their MBP without SFE section but with conversion built in for tracking/printing on 2 buss?

Has anybody tried this with vocals,s Di'd guitar/bass and synths? It might be nice tracking converter for my use as I only record 1-2 tracks at a time, especially if the limiter sounds good on vocals just catching some peaks.
