I use MV2 a lot as a final process on vocals and bass. This gives a few extra parameters. Great find - and free!

I've read through the manual and still don't know for sure…is the leveler control working somewhat like a limiter? Can I use this in the role of maximizer/limiter?
I'm gathering that the low level compressor is almost like an expander. The balance of options with this seem pretty cool.

I don't take anything by Waves special not for free - they always deliver a hook too.

I installed V10 with the offline installer, it works fine with the V11 license.

I'm gathering that the low level compressor is almost like an expander. The balance of options with this seem pretty cool. The low level thing is techincally, I think, called a "de-expander." It brings low level audio up rather than pushing it down. The automatic gain control thing is like a "leveler" which I believe, means a compression or limiter with a very slow attack/release time. I think there were some old Abbey Road comp/lims that worked like this too. I'm wondering how useful this would be in a studio mix. I was reading that some live music engineers use these. Sort of keeps things at an average level over long stretches of time, rather than working like a normal fast-envelope compressor. I already had MV2, so it's nice to have this one also. The low level thing is the draw for me. Like if a little bass filigree is getting lost in sections of the mix, I would use MV2. Or a snare drum that's too dynamic. Very useful.
