So, a few days into just using it tracking a new song.
so far, all the daw functions just do what they are supposed to, no glitches or bugs yet. Nice touch , that track on monitor highlights when you interact with it using controller.
Although some go on and on about huge workflow improvement, so far for basic daw control, it’s second nature to reach for mouse, but I can see how that will change over time as one learn’s the controller and that becomes muscle memory.
I will start using the controller for instruments now and know that’s a little deeper dive, but again presets etc., are only a button away using the controller once you learn where everything is.
You also have the User function where you can program anything, I doubt I will use that function much, but I can see how a more sophisticated user would be all over that, sort of like shortcuts and your keyboard.
So far, so good!

That's great to hear kcatthedog. I'm a Logic user and have considered the same unit. Did you say you got it working to control Logic's synths and keyboards as well?
I have three Arturia keyboards, which is likely all I'd need, but it's nice to know you could get it to perform well with Logic's capable VIs. Some of the Logic synth presets are just magic sounding.

I got a second v collection 7 for $185, made for the mkii.
I don’t think it controls logic’s vi’s but does trigger them. You’d need a nektar to control logic vi‘a ?

This sounds really nice to me. Love the sound of the guitar. My reaction to the piano was that it worked and was totally usable, but I was wondering what it would feel like with a little room reverb added. Might work might not, but I think the Arturia is gonna be good for you.

Thx !
Guitar is a larivee with the new daddario treated strings: first time I tried them, they are very nice.
A warm audio 87 and 414, wa273eq and 2bus.
Both tracks are dry, no mixing yet, still developing other keys parts, vocals.
Definitely pleased with Arturia and really liking the playability of the keybed: everything just works and is well thought out !

I was thinking about getting one.
Have no intention to control the DAW with it, but the integration with Analog Lab and V Collection would be very useful here. What are you thinking about that? Works as it promises?

The controller and AL and or V collection is seamless and you can kind of dive deep or shallow.
If you get one, you might as well try the daw function as it is built in and see if you like it?
I’d say go for it.
Other than the set up problem, now resolved, it’s all working perfectly and zero regrets here.
The Arturia instrument sound quality is excellent.

Thanks. What interests me is being able to try different synths, presets and parameters without going back to the computer chair. If that works well, I might go get one indeed.

You can definitely pick different instruments and their presets.
When you imply not interacting with your computer, the keylab has its own small lcd display, so you can certainly just play.
If you click on daw mode, you can also arm the track, control transport etc., play and or record.
