I love the MEQ because it allows me to carve out the mud or unwanted gack from toms and guitar amp captures. I love the V because it tames the harshness and adds a magical syrup and is more tone than anything, even when doing 15db gain reduction I love the 76a because it truly is faster than a speeding bullet and brings the brightness back in at 12:1 like nothing else! I love the D-Comp cause it lives on room mics and squeezes every bit of juice out of those luscious ripe oranges.
Shameless promoter of heiserman and audioscape as they produce the finest enhanced descendants of classic gear available today.
Great things are on the horizon.... our first 500-series preamp and something else... a "utility piece" that has a few extra twists for ultimate "fun" factor in a product that can otherwise, often times - be kind of boring 😎😉
I have the opto, v-comp and 76F. Haven't got near enough hands on time with going back to essentially full time in the ER since the pandemic to truly appreciate the differences and have only used so far with some older live band tracks (not very well recorded) that I'm trying to remix. So far have tried on lead vocal, bass and drum buss - and all sound great. Need more experience to declare a "winner" - especially with tracking - but they all add something special to a track when patched in. Want to add a pair of 3A's when I can grab some, in the meantime I'll enjoy what I have.
