I could put it on a wire recorder and copy it back. That's what I'd do here. Different sort of grit though, would fool most people 'enough'.

Izotope Vinyl if it still exists. Yeah. Wonder if it'll go all the way to Victrola.

Izotope Vinyl if it still exists. Yeah. Wonder if it'll go all the way to Victrola. Looks like it has a setting for the 30’s, which isn’t quite the victrola sound I’m looking for, but it’s free so I’ll download it and check it out. Not sure about the wire recorder. If it was for more than a YouTube video I’d probably take you up on it to see what we get. Thanks for the thoughts everyone.

Looks like they have a couple of horn speaker options. I’ll download the demo and see if this works.

While I'd love to really dive into Speakerphone it is $400 and probably overkill for what I need. I was able to dial in something really close to what I was looking for with Izotope Vinyl. Good call Johnkenn. Thanks again everyone.

AudioThing has their updated Speakers plugin for $59 right now. It includes six different radio speaker sound emulations, amongst other things like cabs, boomboxes, megaphones, Gameboys, etc. www.audiothing.net/effects/speakers/

That gave more info than the ADSR site. Looks like that might work too.

Yeah, when I read the description I thought Speakers sounded like a decent plugin, but nothing essential. After seeing the demo, I'm impressed by all the applications they use, and how it could really help a production stand out.

You might also want to check out Futzbox from McDSP and Speakersim from NoiseAsh. Futzbox is an outstanding plugin.

Although I'll say this: Maybe it's finding a lot of use in film post-production, in which case: - I could see its value for all the crazy scenarios audio-for-picture has to deal with
- There is still some real money to be made in film

Just found a preset in the UAD Pultec HLF that does the Victrola thing without the artifacts and such.
