I wonder why they used all that wiring. They could have just run the PCB to the connectors and it would have been a lot cheaper to build. Hand wiring takes forever.

Slight error in the backpanel from the supplier meant that the PCB mounted XLRs wouldn't fit. Wired them up with solder cup XLR to not scrap an otherwise perfect case.

Haven't had much time to try this out yet but some guitar tests sounded great. More to come...

Working on tracking/videoing a little something... hope to post next week. Sounds great. Love the line it rides between transparent and color.

I bought one as well. LOVE IT! matt@IAA made me one very early on in production back in October of last year. I got the RE0887 'Heider' style input transformers and 'Neumann' OA10 Op Amps... He also put their new 'Flickinger' style op amp on one channel, and it gets used a lot. Matt was awesome through the whole process Quint, and I learned a lot along the way!

I'll keep this idea in my back pocket for somewhere down the road. I may eventually need another four channels for my rack.

It's totally fantastic sounding. Full frequency, very detailed with just the right amount of color. Total steal if you ask me.

I'd like a second unit with the Heider type iron and q8 or flick op amps.

I think it was 1200 for the 4 channel pre.

I think it was 1200 for the 4 channel pre. that's a smashing price! And the construction is absolutely MINT. Neat and tidy. Always instills confidence.

Does anyone else get really amped when you see the wiring all twisted together neat like that?
Looks beautiful.

It's affordable enough I'd like to have maybe 8 channels of the stock version and 8 of a colored up version. Would track wonderfully.

I've got the song 90% done. I have an intro part I want to record but I have been fighting some health issues that directly affect my hands which puts guitar in a bad place. I'm just now making some headway as to what might be causing things so hopefully I can get back to playing before too long.
