I swear this thing is so bad ass.
The hardware blows away the software.
If you guys have it I'm telling you, try it for vocals, you'll be amazed. I know most people use it for mastering but it's money on vocals. I've yet to find anything that touches it.
I sold all of my hardware when coranavirus reduced my work hours but the clariphonic will be the first thing I reorder. And probably another audioscape 76A lol
Anyone else use the hw on vocals?

Yeah. jtc111 has one. I played around with it for an afternoon. It is a sweet piece of gear.

I’ve never used the hardware, but have worked with both versions of the software a bit. I’ve never really gelled with it, so I’d love to hear what you guys like about the hardware version. Mostly I guess I’m just rarely in a position of really needing to add more top end to anything.

I have the hardware. Use it on cymbals and on the mixbus. miklo, how do you use it on vocals? Add some shine on top?

Usually just the focus knob at about 50%. I actually rarely touch the clarity knob.
What I notice is it instantly gives me the modern vocal that puts it right where it should be without any harshness.
Esp when I do playback on secondary lower grade speakers like Avantones, it reveals its magic.
And I don't get along with the software at all. People claim they can be close but the hardware just has this 3D smooth hifi quality.

Thanks, I'll have to check that out. I have the Clarity knob at 11 o'clock with the Silk setting for mixes. How do you set the Lift/Open and Tight/Diffuse switches for vocals?
I have a few Dolby A units with modified cards for that old Dolby Vocal Stressor trick, but I bet the Clariphonic makes it easier and smoother.

This is my setting for vox. I don't engage the Clarity section at all.

Your Clariphonic seems to be different than mine, though...

Yes. You have the first one. They came out with a new one that is different and includes a cut switch and mid side processing. Both are awesome.

That explains it, thanks. Mid-side, cut and boost...well...no, I'm not gonna spend more money...
