Fellow AES members.
so, AES is going virtual for the 2020 summit. Calling it "Virtual Vienna". Anyone planning on attending?

Dear AES Community,
I hope you, your family, your friends and loved ones are safe and well. While the world continues to change and we all adapt to an evolving “new normal,” I am grateful that I've been able to tap into my amazing audio community for advice . . . for support . . . for hope. AES has always provided world-renowned education and presented the latest research, but it's the people I've met through AES who have become my dear friends and trusted colleagues that make the Society so special. Not only am I proud to lead our beloved organization through such a challenging and uncertain time, I am honored and humbled to have this extraordinary opportunity to produce an AES that's even stronger on the other side.
The AES and its operations have been significantly affected by the COVID-19 crisis. A month ago we launched the AES NeedsYou! campaign to raise $500,000 by June 1st. I am extremely thankful to everyone who has so generously donated. To date, we have raised over $160k from generous donations, from members offering Gift Memberships to those facing challenges, through industry support, and from grants. All proceeds go directly into supporting the daily operations of the Society. If you are able to contribute to this effort, we would be grateful. No amount is too small.
The Vienna Convention Committee quickly shifted to start working on a virtual event, which is now called the AES Virtual Vienna Convention, held June 2-5. They are committed to delivering the peer-reviewed and expertly curated technical program online — and we have our wonderful presenters and authors to thank for their willingness to come along on the ride. You are not going to want to miss this experience! If you haven't already, you can register here.
I will look forward to seeing you at an in-person AES event in the not-too-distant future.
Wishing you all the best,
Agnieszka
